Kite Designs - Most Beautiful (and FUGLY)?
Another thread (about the Twister) just inspired this.
Performance, cost and reputation aside - does anyone have some strong preference out there about particular kite model colors and patterns?
(this could be as fun as those "Ugliest Cars" polls)

My favorite kites to see in the air are the HQ Montana III and IV, Flexifoil Blade IV Petrol, and the Peter Lynn Phantom. I just got a Peter Lynn
Synergy in Rasta and it might make my top best looking kites list, but I need to get to know her first.
Here is Angus's 4.9 Blade IV in Rasta and the Blade IV 6.5 Petrol that used to be mine.
And here is a pic of the 9.5m Montana III.
It's not a photoshop job, but an actual unretouched picture.
And here are both Blades and the Montana all in the same pic.
And last but not least, the Montana IV 9.5

I have to admit, even my Montana II looks a little better up in the air than I thought it actually would. I'm just glad it doesn't have the same big,
funky "eyebrows" that the Montana I has! (what WERE they thinking?)
The Access (here I go again!) is quite nice (can't say I like all the other Ozones as much)

i nearly bought a twister but couldnt handle the rubbish design so went for a cult! i wonder how many ppl have been put off aswell, definately a bad
selling point.
The new blade (v) and Blurr look quality imo. i also think that LEIs generally have great designs. oh and the manta is another good one.
all IMO of course.

I agree - definitely the Phantoms. THe Outlaw is pretty cool too but not as "clear" as the Phantom.
Hands down though? I think the sexiest kite out there has got to be the SA2.

Another vote for the Phantom!!!
In my opinion (even though it isn't really a powerkite) the symphony is the most ugly:
Kites:PL Hornet 2.0m, 15m Synergy
Dakine Pyro Harness
Rides: MBS Comp 16 Pro, Sector9 Longboard, Forum Snowboard
And always a helmet

PKD century soulfly is my fav- looks like it's tattoed like me:tumble: The SF2 is on the way I guess and it is sick too. Props to Ozone also for not
being afraid to make a kite with olive drab and orange on it. Sounds atrocious but looks cool.
Like Drew said, the best is always the one you got, though.

I like most of the new Flysurfer kites with the exception of the speed. The outlaw may be a little over the top. I've never seen a Phantom in person
but it looks like an alien to me. still a sweet concept.
I tend to think that a lot of the PL kites are pretty plain (mind you it won't stop me from getting one)
I'd actually really dig a kite with a solid-colour scheme. Something like royal purple on the top and plain white on the bottom.

I agree with Beamerbob on the Montana III. The one in the pic i got from him, looks the best on a over cast day. The blue on this kite is just an
eye catcher.

"I'd actually really dig a kite with a solid-colour scheme."
Yep, me too. Actually some of the Pansh Aces look cool in solids with a contrasting edge. I say "some" 'cause they don't seem to follow any set color
style or pattern.
I guess it's OK to confess on a Power Kite forum that I actually prefer some of the Chinese Revolution knock-offs over the real ones. In fact, I
would'a already bought a few Revs if I found enough with colors and patterns I actually want to be seen flying with! The few Revs that caught my eye
were old or limited ed. one$.

Aside from the Phantom, those BaldeIV's are probably the best looking kites I've seen, by a very long way. Most of the rest are just bland, some are
hideous - like the HQ kites :ticking:

The blaze is a pretty cool design.

I personally like the rage in acid, I have yet to see a rage in punk, expect on utube but I bet they look pretty slick in person

I also like th older montana with the little evil looking face in the middle of it!
http://www.atbshop.co.uk/images/hq/hq_montana_iso.jpg
Truth be told the jojo's look really nice in the sky. the high aspect ratio and clean look really compliment each other, even more so when piloted by
someone who make it float and fly (seemingly) effortlessly. http://www.jojowing.com/img/galerie/8.jpg
Unfortunately I think most of the really sexy kites are really designed for our water brethren. They not only get to play with a larger canvas but
also get to do some really cool things with shape. For example the the naish helix or slingshot turbo for form are pretty cool. The pl phantom put a
twist on the simple pattern that I really like. there are a bunch of smaller kite manufactures doing some really funky designs lately too.
naish helix (2d pictures don't do the kite justice, you'll either love it or hate it )

I second that- that black 4m ace with the dark red leading and trailing edges looks good.
I agree with you too, arkay about the jojo's. Simple and clean.
Kitejumper- my male ego is too fragile for "hot pink", so I'll go with "high visibility red". Loud colors in abundance are good too. I think the
trend for me is I pretty much like them all. And if the graphics are kind of crappy, then just get the biggest one you can, because everything looks
better when it's bigger than a car.
