Jumping
Hey everyone,
I've been doing my fair share of research on these forums and what ive learned about jumping is the kite should be 5m + or you'll be hitting
the ground as fast as you took off( ow ! ) BUT, i was woundering if this was different for me, because i weigh a mere 113 pounds ( 8.3 stone or 52 kg
) so could you please specify to me whether a 4m for me would be like a 5m for you guys ( jumpers ) . Thanks guys. Oh and ive heard the cirrus pro has
been half designed by the designer of the blade and apparently it has a fair ammount of lift, Should i get it ? and if i would still need a 5m for
jumping, is that a stupid idea for my weight
thanks everyone

im no expert, and other may tell you different but the reason people say get a 5+m kite is not a weight issue, its an issue of the "floaty-ness" of
the kite. a little kite doesnt have much float, which is why it will chuck youm around. by getting a bigger kite, it give you more float and has more
of a parachute effect when your going down.
dont rely on my for this though, wait and see what others say.

all i do is jump--so....if youre new--just forget it for right now--learn to control a smaller kite so well you can close your eyes and fly it--after
you have some good skills, maybe then--kite jumping is DANGEROUS!! there is NO WAY to make it totally safe!! you can make it safer-but there are
always going to be risks involved

The BEST thing you can do is get a decent 3m kite and learn to fly it without looking at it at all.
Only when you can fly the kite without looking at it should you even consider jumping or buying a larger kite.
In the mean time start saving for a quality used kite from a reputable brand and learn all you can.

Mood: They're ALL good ideas. Right up until they become BAD ideas.

But NEVER underestimate the 3m! My first (and most stellar example of a perfectly executed) superman was from a 3m Blaze that I got #@%$#!y with in
high gusty winds. Wasn't paying attention and it launched me easily 5-10 feet up (hands first) and well over 20-30 feet downwind. I didn't even know
what happened until it was all over it was so fast.

Ha! When I first had the Rebble, was down on the beach with friends and they said "Do a jump!" and I said "Well I never done one, but apparently you
put the kite to one side, like this, then send it quickly across to the - yoink!" and I bounced on my head wa-aaay downwind.
Of course, my friends were like "Dude! That was cool do it again!" ... bastards
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...
