I had to go summer because quite honestly, I haven't yet had the opportunity to kite in any other season.
On a side note, when I saw the topic I was led to believe there would be dancing.

well on the coast, that is when we get to the breaking point. the winter time on the coast is the time to reinstall those butterflies that aren't
there in the summer.

Spring here in idaho is when the wind really picks up. Winter is pretty good but MAN is it cold. I flew anyways this last year but i was just plain
bundled ;P . I enjoy the spring because it's cool enough to fly outside and not sweat like crazy with all your pads on and the wind is bloooooooowin!

Winter for me. I don't mind the cold one bit... and you can always add layers if it's too cold, but you can only remove so much when its hot.

It so depends on where you live and how brutal the cold is vs. how steady the summer winds are.
Aug - Dec in Brazil is nice. Warm temps and windy everyday.

Noth ing for all yaer round. For me wind direction is the deciding factor as the best is north easterlies and we only get them every few months. So
when we get them it is everyone out.

Winter. Snowkiting rules.
Once I learn how to kitesurf successfully, I might change my mind. However, for now, winter is my choice.

I guess kite surfers here would naturally prefer summer. But Fall and Spring here has better inland winds and emptier shorelines for us landlubbers.
I was so looking forward to the Summer season, but forgot all about the windless, inland doldrums and the crowded beaches. Not to mention the HEAT!
Really makes wearing protection gear a chore.

Winter for me - there is always wind here, but good surfaces for long runs and interesting terrain features are a lot closer to home in winter. Heck,
when the wind chill gets to -40 you are motoring so you don't think about the tears frozen on your cheeks.

Fall, with Winter a really close second.
Riding here in Ontario, Summers have no / little wind. Just a quick landboard session here and there, with the odd kitesurf.
Come September, the beach crowd splits, the water gets cold, and cold fronts bring in some good wind over the Great Lakes. Gordon Lightfoot didn't
sing about the "Gales of November" for nothing. (wow, I just really dated myself!)
Winter, is great, but too short, just 6 weeks and it's over. February to mid March for most years on the ice.
All of my best sessions are on snow (self-shot video from last February)

I went with fall because it's next. The last trip to the field was 108 degrees. About 3 hours in that will drain the life from you for the rest of the
day.
That trip was really taxing as I was trying to learn to spin the 7m Ace. Ever heard of folding tips? Gesh. oh, this is a poll. sorry.

tbh i aint bothered that much as long as the wind is constant and clean and at nice speed and its not raining.
Although a blazing hot summers day on the beach with a decent wind when the tide is out is beautiful. but thats rare here lol
