Imagine a kite that requires a 'string' with a breaking strength of 20 tons or a dump truck to serve as anchor. :shocked2:

could you imagine if someone got inside when launching. We'd have the whole balloon boy fiasco all over again.InvertedForce - 13-1-2010 at 10:17 PM
Dang! That was here in Des Moines! How come I haven't seen that huge kite flying around? I'm going to invite that guy next time I go flying...indigo_wolf - 13-1-2010 at 10:23 PM
He needed to have a harness just in case, that way he could've strapped in and gone for a HOOJ ride.shaggs2riches - 13-1-2010 at 10:32 PM
Oh man I never thought of that happening. Couldn't imagine what would have gone through his head as that was happening.shaggs2riches - 13-1-2010 at 10:34 PM

There is a video on the AKA site showing a bridle grab of a guy while fliing a kite a bit smaller than Dave,s. He was lifted about 60 ft. up and fell
to the ground. He did live for a couple of hours but I'm sure it was not good times. Maybe a harness would have helped. But not getting in the bridle
as it was going up would have been better.McDuck - 14-1-2010 at 03:45 PM
So when that goes up do people stand and take their hats off? :shocked2:
