I just need a bottom of the line kiteboard with foot straps and bindings, I am not a professional so I dont need the
best, just something that will workdylanj423 - 15-4-2010 at 06:21 AM
look at plyboards... thats as cheap as they come... youre prob not going to find anything less than $200, unless you like to build stuffjustonia19 - 15-4-2010 at 06:49 AM
yeah that is my last resort..... there has to be someone out there with an old kiteboard that is not seeing any
use.....PHREERIDER - 15-4-2010 at 06:57 AM
stuff in the category you wanting from generally, very hard to ride & and complete novelty. most will just frustrate you . old wake
boards, skim boards, wake skates, homespun stuff, crazy surf board and ply junk. fun from all of it but daily ride or starting out avoid it.
something that will work = $200 gonna get you something for surepower - 15-4-2010 at 08:01 AM
I made a plydoor and only payed for some polyurethane and $10 litewave straps. Plywood was from the dumpster, 3 layer, non marine, non pressure
treated. Works fine, especially in light wind.justonia19 - 15-4-2010 at 08:05 AM

Would I need some kind of binding and fins?power - 15-4-2010 at 08:07 AM
Might want some cheap plastic fins, I'm thinking about getting some for my plydoor to make it easier to stay upwind. Straps are bindings.justonia19 - 15-4-2010 at 08:08 AM

Should I heat the plywood up with steam, bend it to make the rocker curve?power - 15-4-2010 at 08:16 AM
If you want it for lightwind then no. Rocker makes it easier to go in chop and waves by naturally keeping the tips of the board off the water. The
downside to that is you lose the amount of surface area exposed to the water so you get less float. I have no rocker in mine and it doesn't bother me.justonia19 - 16-4-2010 at 05:10 AM
I realized that there are no boards out there for under 100 so I changed the post, I have seen some go for 150....Jovver - 16-4-2010 at 07:43 AM
Don't give up... I got my SS Jarvis for $170, but that was at the end of last season when peeps were getting rid of their old gear.Jovver - 16-4-2010 at 04:11 PM
Have you checked ikitesurf.com? There are plenty boards on there that are in your price range...kiteNH - 16-4-2010 at 04:20 PM
My understanding is that getting a proper beginner board (meaning big) is pretty important if you are just starting out. I think you probably want
something in the 140 cm or larger, but I'm not an expert.justonia19 - 21-4-2010 at 08:19 AM
I am still looking for someone that would part with that kiteboard..borntofli - 21-4-2010 at 08:47 AM
Look on craigslist in different cities...(Miami, Gorge,......) I just got a litewave 137x44 like new for 170 shipped..... you just gotta look,
they're out there....edk442 - 24-4-2010 at 01:19 PM
