Footage from the Spring 2010 Wildwood Buggy Bash. A big thanks to Dean aka "kteguru" for giving me a lift on the back of his buggy so I could capture
this footage. THANKS DEAN!!
I had posted this on YouTube, but they really butchered the quality so i'm giving Vimeo a shot, definitely looks better. Hope you guys like the video,
let me know what you think!
That video simply ROCKS! I just preview the raw video the other night and was laughing that you were yelling for me to slow down. Thanks for getting
me hooked on the music and video footage!BeamerBob - 27-5-2010 at 04:49 PM
Man, that's just kite p0rn. I didn't want it to end. What were the conditions that the blade had an advantage on the venom and then the venom had
the advantage later. Wind pick up? My heart jumped when I saw that blade launch. The only kite I ever regretted selling. Maybe someday I'll get
one again.Maven454 - 27-5-2010 at 04:52 PM

Unbelievable vid Rian. Everyone's videos of WW just keep getting better!!! And yes,,,, we were yelling at Todd to slow down due to
his unfair use of some kind of Venom afterburners or something.
There's a lot to be said for depower when the winds are 12 gusting past 25. Todd had the advantage the whole way Bob. When the gusts hit it
appeared he was able to just depower and maintain a decent line down the beach unlike Rian and I just doing 3 wheel drifts with each gust even though
our combined weight must be easily past 350 lbs. Todd is without a doubt a master with those flying mattress thingy's.
Sorry again for the destruction of your camera mount Rian. Us rookie's are always breaking things on the light wind days;-).

Lovely chillaxed video...I wanna hit the beach nowrdavis - 28-5-2010 at 05:56 AM
Thanks for the compliments everyone, I really appreciate them! This was only the second video i've ever attempted and I have to say, I did put in a
little effort.
Dean, like I said before, no worries on that camera mount. My brother-in-law is
gonna get it fixed up for me. I'm just glad nothing was damaged on your end. Out of curiousity, did you see it and were trying not to hit it, or just
didn't see it at all. Only reason I ask is I want to make sure it's very visible to everyone around because of it's position. I was concerned about
that when I brought it out and was going to put flags or something on top. I think you suggested painting it a bright fluorescent color. I just don't
want it to be a hazzard to anyone.kteguru - 28-5-2010 at 07:43 AM
Definately did not see it Rian. I wouldn't intentionally try to get it caught in a kite. I didn't see it til it was too late. Of course the wind
being really light that day didn't help the 8.5 stay in the air either. :Ange09:rdavis - 28-5-2010 at 08:16 AM
Gotcha. I wasn't sure if you were able to see it and were unable to avoid it, or if it was just invisible all together. When I get it back, i'm gonna
see if I can get it painted up and put something on top to make it more visible. I may end up cutting down the height too. I just started with it that
tall to see how the angle would look. I knew it'd be easier to start big and work my way down, rather than the opposite.cheezycheese - 28-5-2010 at 08:30 AM
Hey Rian, that is a great video. you really have an eye for editing, nice timing, good music selection,etc... there are guys i work with who get paid
to edit and don't have your talent, keep it up!! :bigok:ragden - 28-5-2010 at 09:04 AM
Nice vid bud. I like how there is that giant 8m outlaw hovering over your head at one point. I laughed when I saw that...
I look forward to more of your vids. rdavis - 28-5-2010 at 09:13 AM

Just a thought for the top of that camera mount would be a section of orange surveyor's tape, something that might not flap around so much causing
vibration.
Oh, can we talk about some afterburners now :Drdavis - 28-5-2010 at 09:29 AM

Ok, That's it No more blowing by Dean due to the use of depower afterburners
on ridiculous gusty days. I need one of those flying mattress thingy's. Who can hook me up with a test of a Charger 12? What size was that Venom Todd? 13?B-Roc - 28-5-2010 at 10:15 AM

If it makes you feel any better Dean, most of the time ragden blasted by...he was going the other way, lol....but he was still blastin along pretty
good.Todd - 28-5-2010 at 10:25 AM
Now let’s take a note of this... I Todd did not first bring up the afterburner subject. However now that the topic has surfaced I can sit back with my
can of lighter fluid adding a little at a time.
I hate to break it to you Dean but that was my little ol' 8m doing its magic, a flying pillow case if you will. I'd have to put the buggy on a scale
but I could guarantee that my combined weight would be 350 plus. I'm a believer in those Carlisle’s holding a true line for me!
You sir are the master of flying those flexi's but I can arrange a 12m Charger for you to demo if interested

off topic but ,
Do ya think we could like have straight line drag races for say 500 -1000 yds? get a bunch of cones and lay out a track. Just an idea, we would
have to work out some rules of course. And classes or something.WELDNGOD - 28-5-2010 at 04:18 PM
Oh , yeah and I can't talk any smack, cause Rian got that vid of that "faceplant" I did. So I'm stayin outta this.

The tune was Blake Jarrel - Punta del este (Beach Mix). I quite enjoyed being the cameraman for most of the day. I love taking pictures and video and
i'm looking forward to the next time. I'll be needing volunteers who can give me a lift. I'm also planing to pick up a GoPro HD soon, so that'll rock
come fall. WELDNGOD - 28-5-2010 at 05:29 PM
Or we could have kitebuggy pulls thru the soft stuff. Full pull or OBE, no strops or harnesses ,handles only. :bigok:WELDNGOD - 28-5-2010 at 05:33 PM

Yeah, but he caused my "unhotwired" butt to launch like a missle on that upwind test. I gotta remember to bring my hotwire rig next time.
Dean was the man w/ his
@ DEAN I learned alot from you Dean , if you didn't notice I was watchin how you handled that power. Takes some HOOJ ones for that, and to add the
responsibility of passenger. My hats off to you my friend, all day long you are the man Todd - 28-5-2010 at 06:18 PM

Very much agreed... mad respect of harnessing the wind. kteguru - 28-5-2010 at 07:59 PM
HOLY COW!! I leave for a couple hours and all hell breaks loose on this thread.
Many thanks for the compliments Donnie but lets get back to the topic at hand. The Guru can and regularly DOES burn by every last one of
you:moon: EXCEPT when the gusts are so extreme that kites are
dropping from the sky due to no wind one second then lit on fire the next as 25 mph wind comes blasting through the
buildings,,,,,,,,,therefore,,,,,,,,,, Dean needs a gustmuncher, ie. arc. If you could hook me up with a demo Todd I'd greatly appreciate it. I was
thinking 12 would be a good size to start with and then go from there.
I hope I added a bit of lighter fluid of my own:P. Sorry I'm late
joining in the fun:evil::wee:

Don't worry about that bus Rian. Because if you got off the back of my buggy we could just play Todd's clip in reverse to see who the real speed
demon is :moon::wee:kteguru - 28-5-2010 at 08:08 PM
@WG You should have told me you needed a hotwire. I had an extra one that fits all buggies in my bag. I used it to try out Ziggy and Edmond's new
buggies. I always have spare gear in the bags.shehatesmyhobbies - 29-5-2010 at 04:46 AM

I will third that remark. You definitely are a very talented pilot Dean. You exhibit 100% confidence and control when you fly. After causing Donnie's OBE I wasn't sure I was gonna be able to get anyone to haul my heavy
behind around, but I asked Dean and without hesitation he agreed to give me a lift.
All of you guys are great people and whether i'm passing, getting passed, or riding b#tch on the back of somebody's buggy, I really enjoy sharing the
beach with you guys. I hope come fall we can all get together in a pack riding down the beach, that would make some sweet video footage.kteguru - 29-5-2010 at 05:37 PM
Awww man, I was trying to keep the fire stoked but I can't bust anyone's chops with all these compliments. If it looks like I know what I'm doing
when I ride its only because I have the opportunity to ride with so many great people who always push the limits as well. Everyone is always more
than welcome to ride with me anytime and I hope we can get some great video this fall as well.
Good winds

I'm glad you people are aware of the skills the Guru has.
I thought he was BeamerBob for about 30 seconds. As soon as I saw how he holds his handles I knew I was watching somebody else.
You handle kite like the Euro's
You folks who get to ride with this guy should pay close attention. Note how he holds his handles different + performs his turns etc....
Do the poor guy a favour and tell him he has too much sunscreen on BEFORE the camera rolls!
I hope you enjoy your intro to the Arc side! kteguru - 30-5-2010 at 08:11 AM
Thanks for the compliments Bladerunner. You guys are going to give me a fat head if this keeps up
Thanks for the turtle Lostfox. Now how do you get it in with the rest of the smilee's? I definately perfected the turtle slam while riding with Broc
yesterday. Right shoulder definately sore after that beating.doublespeed360 - 30-5-2010 at 10:58 AM
sunscreen ,the story gos he got to burnt up the first 2 days forgeting to put it on , then he would give another ride by the 3rd day the damage was
done.but plenty of happy riders, you won't see todd getting burnt with those helmets.
