link? there are a bunch of folks I know who run larger kites on shorter lines. I go back and fourth. I like long lines too, when I want to jsut fly
the kite more and work the window rather than park and ride.

With shorter lines you can turn the kite faster, which leads to bigger jumps.
The longer the line set the more wind speed you can take advantage of. Wind speed increases with altitude
