This weekend, seems like its going to be great "big kite" conditions.
Im thinking of rolling over to the "first entrance".:wee:van - 12-1-2011 at 06:25 PM
I'll put it on my calendar. Are you gonna be on land or water?? I'm bringing my buggy and ATB with the flysurfer and a couple ARCs.Houston AirHead - 12-1-2011 at 06:32 PM
maybe, im going to bring my suit just in case. Ill bring both my landboard and skim.
Im hoping the sun will be out this weekend, that might end up being the deciding factor for me as crazy as that sounds. :bouncing:van - 12-1-2011 at 06:36 PM
I got new bigfoot tires for my buggy so really wanted to test them out. If it's not sunny , I might just come down for a couple hours around noon.
It's too cold for me if it's not sunny. It's an hour drive for me to get down there so it's not too bad if I can get a good run in on the buggy.Houston AirHead - 12-1-2011 at 07:17 PM
Ok sweet, im going to keep checking the conditions this week until friday night/ saturday morning.
ill keep yall postedborntofli - 13-1-2011 at 06:09 PM
Go for the water guys.... I've been out the last 4 days here in port a, Good wind and super clean surf...... A good fat wetsuit and a car heater
crankin when you get in is all you need......
The only time your cold is when you quit.....treblehook - 13-1-2011 at 06:41 PM
Had my eye on the weather also
20% chance of rain...Van if you make it down to the coast Sat..
are you going to Surfside or Galveston ?
Herbvan - 13-1-2011 at 10:48 PM
Depends who's going .. if Kenny want's to meet up , I'll go to surfside , if not I might go to east beach. I like to play with my landboard on that
hard pack area near our DBBB camp.Houston AirHead - 14-1-2011 at 08:52 PM
Hey Van, its looking like the weather is going to be horrible. Ill be up for a few more hours.
Hey Treb i havent seen you in a long time how are those buggys doing for ya?
Im going to keep watching the weather until i fall asleep and again when i wake up in the morning.van - 14-1-2011 at 09:27 PM
yeah.. look like the SE wind got push to sunday and good chance it's gonna rain all weekend too. Oh well .. means I got more time to work on my
second buggy.Houston AirHead - 14-1-2011 at 09:34 PM
Sweet, Ive been wanting to get into a buggy. If your ever interested in selling one of your bugs please let me know, depending on price i might be
interested. The one in your avitar looks durable, unlike some of the ones floating around on the internet.van - 14-1-2011 at 09:46 PM
Give me a call .. we'll talk .. I just got a batch of pipes and steel plates to make about 4 more in the next couple weeks. It will be carbon steel
with paint or powder coat. I haven't purchase any stainless steel yet but it's an option.treblehook - 14-1-2011 at 10:36 PM
going to be staying at Moody Gardens Sat night. So going to try to hit East beach in the morning .. they up ed the percent of rain to 30% after noon
time. east wind to 13 knts.hope to get some runs in before the rains.. herb:singing:Houston AirHead - 18-1-2011 at 09:44 PM
weather man is saying wind is going to switch to SE tomorrow afternoon. if the wind is right, im going.
*** Decided not to go, the wind was real shifty today. Since I finally got my low-wind kite, im starting to get tired of these fronts and am looking
forward to a nice 10-15 SE summer day.
Cant wait:singing:tridude - 19-1-2011 at 02:17 PM

it aint summer, but this sunday will be in the 60's.... low teens early in the day to higher teens at night... i do believe i will be heading to the
beach : )
there are many reasons i love texas, being able to fly kites year round on the beach is one of themHouston AirHead - 19-1-2011 at 05:39 PM
Absolutely Tri, ive been flying the speed at the house allot.
Funny I just came in from a static fly and as the sun was going down, I had it hovering over my house. I was getting cars to drive down my street
looking for the UFO.
So hilarious. I live in a rural area so a speed 17 hovering over a house is a site to see.
I’m addicted to back-stalling.:bouncing:
Dylan you mean tomorrow? i thought it was going to be blowin like 20+ out of the northvan - 19-1-2011 at 08:18 PM
Nah.. Dylan is talking about sunday. It's suppose to switch back to south / southeast. I'm hoping it will be a nice southeast all day but it's a few
days away and you know how the wind god has been lately. The problem is the rain always come when the wind shifts to SE so there's a 40% chance of
rain.Houston AirHead - 19-1-2011 at 09:27 PM
oh yeah i saw sunday's forecast. we shall see what happens. we shall see.
i cant wait to race you head to head on the speeds van. i hope you have good board skills because, im pretty dang fast!van - 20-1-2011 at 07:00 AM
haha ... I'm still learning to landboard so I'm gonna need a slight handicap ..hahaha ... Dylan on the other hand has tried my 17m speed on his new
board and was going pretty fast. I might have to use Dylan as my stunt double Houston AirHead - 22-1-2011 at 04:48 PM
wind is looking good,
i would have gone today but i slept in too late, woke up and realized the wind has been blowing great all day.Taper123 - 22-1-2011 at 05:16 PM
Next time the water/air temp combo is at least 110 degrees I'm up for a water session. Until then... There should be some great buggy opportunities
in the next couple months. East Beach is kinda cool on those strong cold fronts with 25+mph winds on the bay side. Best speeds I ever hit were at
SLP after a really strong cold front.. when the winds returned to the south-east. Tides were way out and and smoooooth hard pack. Hit a hair over
50 mph on gps. Usually too many washouts and bumps to do that... but when it's perfect... it's perfect.Houston AirHead - 22-1-2011 at 09:07 PM
yeah east beach is a ton of fun water/ and sandHouston AirHead - 22-1-2011 at 09:14 PM
any one down for a night session at surfside?
if i dont go tonight ill be out there in the morningHouston AirHead - 22-1-2011 at 09:35 PM
I'll be out at the first enterance at around 10:00am.
@surfside
Its going to be a great day:bigok::bouncy:van - 22-1-2011 at 09:42 PM
I am planning to be out there so if you do show up, I should have my flysurfer in the air.Houston AirHead - 22-1-2011 at 10:46 PM
I'll be there. Tryin to fall asleepHouston AirHead - 28-1-2011 at 07:52 AM
Lookn' like Monday is going to be a nice SE breeze. van - 28-1-2011 at 08:15 AM
I was hoping that it won't rain on saturday because the afternoon looks like a nice SE 15-20mph. Looks like it will be pouring though. I got a buddy
from Calgary that is here and he wants to fly.Houston AirHead - 28-1-2011 at 08:47 AM
Calgary Eh'?Houston AirHead - 28-1-2011 at 06:56 PM
TOMORROW (SATURDAY) IS looking really really awesome.
Conditions are as follows...
8 mph South winds all through the night, jumping up to 15mph around 4 p.m. which then winds switch from south to south-east.
it's gonna be a bright and sunny kiteboarding day tomorrow with only a 20% chance of rain.:wee::wee::wee:van - 28-1-2011 at 09:01 PM
I am worry that the wind will stay south most of the day so plan to head to east beach so I can get a larger area that does not depend on wind
direction. There's a nice large hard pack area at east beach that is great for land boarding.dylanj423 - 29-1-2011 at 09:14 AM
dead thread eh????
why for?Houston AirHead - 29-1-2011 at 10:30 AM
can any one view the second page? because i cant.......Houston AirHead - 29-1-2011 at 10:30 AM
nevermind.... there was some sort of hiccup in my browser, now i can view the second page.
so yeah today is looking ok i guess... a little too much cloud cover for my liking but i still might head out in a couple hours when the wind switches
over to SE and maybe the sun burns off some of the cloud cover.:smug:Taper123 - 29-1-2011 at 06:07 PM
I'm looking forward to the 15 - 20 winds out of the south monday or tuesday before the cold front. Mid 60 degree temps... will have to try and do
some wave hopping van - 29-1-2011 at 07:06 PM
Went down today around 10am. Wind was alot lighter than predicted. It was around 4mph until about 3pm when it picked up to 8mph and SE winds. Got a
few good runs in but no world record :D with the 10m Scorpion. This kite is fun but freaking pain to launch in 4mph wind. :flaming:Houston AirHead - 31-1-2011 at 11:05 AM
Headed down 1st entry...Houston AirHead - 6-2-2011 at 11:47 PM
Tuesday 2-8-2011/ ESE/SE 14+ knots, Sunny, 0% chance of rain
summer is almost here
don't forget your wetsuit...

2/15/11
Went to Stonehenge (Cement pilings near SLP of Surfside side of bridge). With a 19m Charger was able to ride several miles either way and come
back in both the buggy and on the water. Winds were pretty light so I was like "No Way " is this going to get me kiteboarding.... but the 19M
Charger lived up to what it promised.
On the way home, saw a synergy going along by the ttexas state park. I'm gonna guess Dylan was out buggying dylanj423 - 15-2-2011 at 10:47 PM

sport maybe???
... but it was a good guess..... sunday is looking good, by the wayvan - 16-2-2011 at 06:48 AM
If the wind stays SE/ESE, I'll be down there. Sunday is good for me. How about we all try to come down this sunday?treblehook - 17-2-2011 at 06:17 PM
long range outlook for Sunday...
where is everyone going to be?
Herbvan - 19-2-2011 at 08:25 PM
anyone heading to galveston sunday? or surfside? looks like SSE so not sure if anyoen is going.treblehook - 19-2-2011 at 08:52 PM
Sunday...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet. Areas of dense fog with visibility 1 nm or less in the morning...then patchy fog in the
afternoon.
thinking about SLP in the morning..
may go ck out the Stonehenge on surfside side..

HerbTaper123 - 20-2-2011 at 02:24 PM
I cranked up the tiller and got a 25 x 25 garden bed ready yesterday, and have spent most of the day today installing my irrigation system. Drip
emitters for all the bigger plants, sprayers for all the smaller ones. Keeps my water bill and food bill low this way. Now to get a coupleyards of
compost... and it will be time to plant :0 mdntdncr - 20-2-2011 at 06:14 PM
Great!! My house is next!
Seriously, though . . . anyone who went out there today; Can you give us a rundown?Taper123 - 23-2-2011 at 06:17 PM
Gambled that the last official frost date of march 12th won't happen and planted the garden... now to hit the levee tomorrow to kiteboard (and go
by Seabrook for some shrimp). I always like going to the fish markets... and getting to kiteboard is added bonus.van - 23-2-2011 at 07:28 PM
Herb,
How was Galveston? I didnt' get a chance to head down. We planned a BBQ with the family on saturday but it got moved to sunday so couldn't head
down. Looks like we might be getting more SE winds this weekend.treblehook - 23-2-2011 at 10:31 PM
Went down Sunday by way of 288 to Surfside. Flags on the way down were rip pin indicating a good 15 mph wind. Headed toward SLP , Saw the Stonehenge
pylons Steve was talking about in earlier post ..campers there. Hit the pass at around 11am. no fog, pc skies, low tide . get out of the truck and a
gnats fart for wind. around noon wind up to 12-13 south skies cleared .put up a 4 meter
and off to the water tower.been so long since I have bugged , forgot about the cross wind . 10 mins to get to water tower 40 mins to get back, on a
tack . about 1:30 wind shifted t se about 6 - 7. put the 4.5 bora up in the air , played around close to the truck in the large sand mound between the
water a the dunes.
second time out with the big foot tires. love it..left about 3:30.
logged 13.9 miles with max speed 20.9---not the best of days but a great day at the pass.
might have a full plate this week end--but if the winds are right , might have to do some juggling
