line length vs. kite size

Hello

I just began to drive buggy, and have a question about line length

I have been told that instead of changing kite size it is
possible to change the line length instead of

Are there any here who can explain to me is the team
between line length and kite size

Last time I was out and drive the wind dropped so much that any chose longer lines and other chose bigger kites instead?

What is best:
Small kite with longer lines or bigger kite with shorter lines?
and there are any significant differences

Is there a general rule for line length?

Ps.
I apologize for the wording but I have used Google translate

If you have longer lines you have a bigger window and can create a longer power stroke. This allows you to get more out of the kite. Also often better wind is up high and you can use that.

Shortening your lines will make for a smaller wind window and your kite will get to the edge where you want it and stay there better. The short lines will mean fast responce to input at a time it is valuable. It is a great way to handle strong winds if you are going for speed and don't want to trade down.

Changing line lengths is NOT the same as changing kite size. Only a way to get the most out of the kite you have.
