Tough Mudder

Drewculous - 26-3-2012 at 08:02 AM

I kinda thought i wanted to run a marathon (as a goal for getting in shape) this summer

But this looks like my kind of course... a few big guys and some strength challenges, and not all runing.. Who wants to go!?!?

A chick at the gym saw me lifting and said this "Mudder Marathon" is something youd be great at.... welll holy hell that looks like a riot!

FACT #2 – Mudders do not take themselves too seriously.
Triathlons, marathons, and other lame-ass mud runs are more stressful than fun. Not Tough Mudder. As hardcore as our courses are, we meet you at the finish line with a beer, a laugh, and a rockin’ live band. It’s pretty hard to take yourself seriously when you’re covered in mud and have just finished an obstacle called ‘Just The Tip’, so please don’t show up at a Tough Mudder without a sense of humor. Just check out the ridiculous team costumes in our event photos to get a feel for the spirit of Tough Mudder.

who wants to start a team? One near me on June 9th & 10th in colorado...lol Flash Where are ya!!

One in jacksonville, and vegas.... The jacksonville one is during JIBE!!! Mougl, lets do this next year!!!

Reminds me of a "Wilderness Challenge" I did back in 2002. It was in West Virginia and consisted of four events over 2 days. There was a 5 mile run through the hills along the Gorge. A bicycle relay through a mud covered trail (complete with a log and over conveniently placed obstacles). A whitewater rafting excursions (timed event), and a forced hike where the team had to finish together.

It was a fun event, but we took far too seriously, and the white water rafting part killed our team (it was two teams to a boat and the other team didnt row... ).

Good luck!

75 days till the colorado one... Im not sure if I can be ready for it... hell of a goal/timetable tho if I do

mougl - 26-3-2012 at 09:39 AM

I love a challenge but this? Wow...

Drewculous - 26-3-2012 at 09:45 AM

The jibe one next year is happening for sure... 75 days may not be enough for me, but 400(ish) days sure are

God, if I do this in june, its 3-a-day workouts... Im already doing insanity in the morning and lifting in the afternoon... Gotta add an evening run

rocfighter - 21-5-2012 at 01:01 PM

A group from my area just competed in a touph mudder in Pensylvania They say it was a messy blast.

rocfighter - 21-5-2012 at 01:03 PM

I would love to try it if I thought my body would hold up to it. Can you do it turtle style (slow and steady)??

snowspider - 22-5-2012 at 11:33 AM

Some guy posted an hour video of his Spartan Sprint race in Pennsylvania (slow day at work today), 4mile sprint looks a tad lame compared to Tough mudder. Not a walk in the park but the obsticles are pretty simple , a bunch of mud holes and 2 rope nets. If I can get the guys to go I might try one this summer in Pa.

mougl - 22-5-2012 at 12:03 PM

Wait, how did my name get on this list???

snowspider - 23-5-2012 at 06:39 AM

mougl - 23-5-2012 at 11:11 AM

Sorry bro but wedding + JIBE = no tough mudder for this mougl. Going to need my strength for other activities  besides, my knee wont hold up to that much abuse :(

Drewculous - 14-6-2013 at 07:09 AM

ALL HAIL THE NECROPOST :borg:

Im running the Tough Mudder in Beaver Creek Colorado in T-28 hours and I AM STOKED!!! :D

i missed last year's, cuz i was fat (still am  ) but im in a little better shape, so its go time!

The team i'm on is Drag-N-Ass, wish us fat guys good luck! Hoping to do it in under 5 hours

Drewculous - 15-6-2013 at 09:32 PM

Approx four and a half hour finish time!!

Start line elevation: 8100 ft above sea level, high point on course ~11000 ft

I swear we made that climb 4 or 5 times.... Holy crap that was a super hard event

I made the 20' half pipe in one shot by myself, but I also got laid out by the tazers at the end  we completed every obstacle, and finished as a team.... I need a beer lol

Drewculous - 15-6-2013 at 09:36 PM

I also did the obstacle 'just the tip' without goin in the drink!!
WOOOOO!

mougl - 16-6-2013 at 08:16 AM
