I'll be at Sunset Beach today and tomorrow, pretty much all day on both days. The tide will determine how much buggying I do, I still only have
barrows. If anybody is heading out let me know or I'll just see you out there. I'll be down at the second pole.bigkid - 4-7-2012 at 08:19 AM
Any chance you can come out on Saturday also?
I will be down for the day with a few buggies to tune and a few new kites to play with. Would be nice to meet up with you and buggy.
Anyone else coming?sunset-Jim - 4-7-2012 at 09:29 AM

Jeff, what time will you be out on the beach saturday? I'm gonna try my best to make it out there.bigkid - 5-7-2012 at 05:01 PM
I will pull into Seaside about 5 or 6 Friday, and out at the crack of dawn till dusk and the same for Sunday.sand flea - 5-7-2012 at 05:36 PM

My sis missed Seaside on the way to Newport but will be through on the way back on Saturday.bigkid - 5-7-2012 at 07:29 PM

low tide is 11:07am on Saturday and 11:48am on Sundayikemiester - 5-7-2012 at 10:18 PM
bring your water gear if you have some! The tide (as you can see) isn't real great for stuff on the land. The water has been awesome lately. You
don't even really need a wetsuit right now the water has been so warm. Some of the local surfers have been going out in just boardshorts.csa_deadon - 6-7-2012 at 05:55 AM
Will be there between 8am and 9am. Will have the Majestic (it's mine Jeff!!), and picking up the front end for the hard core bigfoot set up. Yess
bringing both big buggies!
SATURDAY - Clearing Schedule!!
crazyherb - 6-7-2012 at 02:29 PM

SteveChrisH - 6-7-2012 at 05:18 PM
I will be there at some point in the morning. I can't decide if i wanna leave at 7 or 8. I might stay the night at a campground or something and ride
sunday morning as well. Will be cool to finally meet some of you guys. :-)bigkid - 6-7-2012 at 06:45 PM

they say possession is 9/10 the law, so if I try it out, may have to keep going till I get home and bum a ride back for the RV, I would be happy to
trade the Apexx with a bit of $$ for it.
I will be out at the beach after breakfast, about 7 or 8 ish. see ya all then.sand flea - 6-7-2012 at 07:19 PM
This is gonna be GREAT!
A weekend of buggy paradise,
see everybody in the morning
I hope I can sleep....ChrisH - 6-7-2012 at 09:14 PM
I'm gonna take some melatonin in a bit, hopefully it'll knock me out quick.arkay - 7-7-2012 at 09:50 AM
Past 4 days in manzanitahave been utterly fantastic. Best wind in years. Fyi for all the kitesurfers, waves at manzi should be epic today. South swell
should make overhead waves :Dsunset-Jim - 7-7-2012 at 08:42 PM
It was an awesome day at Sunset as well. It was almost another SOBB, we had such a good showing. At one time counted 15 kites out on the water as
well. 15-20 mph NW winds all day long.
Ditto!
crazyherb - 7-7-2012 at 11:29 PM
Copy that Jim!!
Was good times today!!
I was throwing jumps bigger then I ever have with board still on my feet...
You were SCREAMING by on a couple of those downwind runs!!
If I didn't have family obligations tomorrow, I'd be back out!!
ROCK ON!!

Great day riding. Even managed to do a little below water work with the Majestic! Still cold. brrrrrrrrheliboy50 - 8-7-2012 at 10:03 PM
Sean, it's a buggy not a submarine.:wee: You missed me sawing off my windsock pole with my lines. 19 footer is now a 12 footer. Oops...:embarrased:bigkid - 8-7-2012 at 11:04 PM

To bad we didn't get the others in the picture, Saturday had 15 buggies on the beach, and 2 still on the RV. Not bad for a non event.
Might have to do it again before SOBB. sand flea - 9-7-2012 at 05:18 PM
That was pretty big get together for non event.
It kind of all started with Chris H said he's coming down and it turned in to a mini SOBB! And ole Sunset was rockin with all the wind you could ever
hope for.
Thanks to Jeff at Big Kids Kites for being so generous with all his toys.
He is always so kind to loan out everything he has and man he's got some really good stuff! I won't say which buggy i liked because all of Europe
will come down on me, but I will say his PKD kites are excellent! I put nearly 50 miles on his 9m Century Sunday morning and was totally stoked! What
a pleasure to fly that big beautiful gentle giant. Thanks again Jeff
So.... looking forward to seeing everybody soon, of course I'm already thinking about this weekend,

hahahahahahaha, Chris, the 9m was moanin n groanin all the way home. It is a sweet kite.
Go ahead and spill the beans. Both bugs are set up for me to a T. You are very close to my size and flying style, which one did you like?ChrisH - 10-7-2012 at 08:35 PM
I had an awesome time with everybody! It makes me wish that I could have made it to the Spring SOBB even more. You guys are awesome and I can't wait
to do it again. I might be up there this weekend as well, anybody else gonna be around? I haven't even looked at wind and weather conditions yet. And
yes, Jeff was very hospitable with his toys and I liked the MG the most. The Apex was nice but it didn't fit me very well, it was just a little too
uncomfortable. Chris' buggy, a Libre, was wonderful also. My little XR pales in comparison to those big buggys. I'm definitely jealous of you guys!bigkid - 10-7-2012 at 09:34 PM

I know of a brand new, used, Hard Core with both forks, down tubes bigfoots and barrows, custom aluminum wheels, and a bunch of goodies for a great
price, NOT MINE, SOMEONE ASKED ME TO SELL IT FOR THEM. I can even post pics of it.
I would never advertize my shop items, here.
So Chris, this would most defiantly fit you. I would even deliver it to you and help you set it up, free.sunset-Jim - 11-7-2012 at 07:01 AM
I know which buggy Jeff is speaking of and I can tell ya that it has very little use and is quite the ride. Always nice to pay used price for
something in all practical purposes is still new.ChrisH - 11-7-2012 at 06:54 PM

Conditions are looking real nice this weekend. Wind is more westerly than usual. Who's gonna be therr? I will try to be out there early Saturday
morning. I havn't even looked at tides yet though.
Low Tides
crazyherb - 12-7-2012 at 12:33 AM
Late afternoon low tide - possible moisture - mild wind <12 bring your BIG kites.
Have jobs in morning anyway...but may "sneak" over if conditions present themselves. I have some new bushings to "test"....

sunset-Jim - 12-7-2012 at 07:00 AM
I should be able to come out on Sunday, possibly on Saturday, but will be late in the day.bigkid - 12-7-2012 at 08:42 AM

But I will be with you guys in spirit,:saint:
A bunch of us will be at Grayland the following weekend(WA. Beach Event), you guys?sunset-Jim - 12-7-2012 at 08:57 AM
On that one too I'm hoping for Sunday anyway.sand flea - 12-7-2012 at 07:55 PM
Hi Guys
I won't know until Friday if i can make it, but I will let you know one way or the other.
Jeff, I like my buggy best. She is just so dialed in for those long days I like to put in.
I'd love to go to Grayland but I have a family gathering that weekend
Chris H, are you thinking of camping out again?
Conditions look like they might be even better than last week!ChrisH - 12-7-2012 at 09:42 PM
I might camp but i might just go for the day. I will let you know asap.sand flea - 13-7-2012 at 04:57 AM
I can make it Saturday and I am bringing a tent and bag just in case I might want to stay Sunday.ChrisH - 13-7-2012 at 07:11 PM
Well, I'm not going to be able to make it now unfortunately. :-(. I have a family reunion that i completely spaced out. I will make it next weekend.sand flea - 14-7-2012 at 06:52 PM
the wind came around to a good 10 to 12 on almost a beautiful pure Westerly and it was another epic day (for me) it was 20 mph one way and 30 mph the
other way. I love my 11m Vapor!!! I am just under 1K for the year.
You would have gone crazy CH, it was what we were talking about.
It was was warm too.
Jellis and Sunset Jim drove by to say hello, always nice to see you guys, thanks.
just another epic day at Sunset.
Can hardly wait for SOBB
Chris
I was there....must have missed ya
crazyherb - 14-7-2012 at 07:47 PM
Flea,
I was there....but didn't show till 3:30PM....
Parked right by Jim...must have missed ya...
Rode a nice up-winder almost to Del Ray....until the tide started to eat up most of the beach...then high-tailed it back to the truck.
Not a bad day...
Stevearkay - 15-7-2012 at 09:20 AM
it was SW down here, funky. I was out on the 11m vapor but I could have used the 16... too many people down here this weekend for speed. I doubt I
can convince the family to head up to sunset. Should be another great day!ChrisH - 16-7-2012 at 10:19 AM
Would have loved to have been there. I'll make it out there again soon.ChrisH - 3-8-2012 at 09:21 PM
I will be out there again tomorrow and sunday. The wind isn't great but it's gonna be too hot in town to stick around. Hope to see you there!bigkid - 3-8-2012 at 09:38 PM
We are going to North Beach in Washington(Moclips) for the weekend.
Anything at the beach is better than being in town.
Sunset...
crazyherb - 3-8-2012 at 09:42 PM
Hope Sunset looks better than Long Beach!
Went to ride today and looks like a lunar surface..
Maybe I'll sneak over in the morning....and peek at low tide...
Stevesand flea - 4-8-2012 at 07:06 PM
I wish I was at the beach!
Any updates? I see it was hot. Its an even 100 here
I'm working hard but I plan to come down next weekend
PS
Chris get the week off for SOBBcrazyherb - 4-8-2012 at 08:25 PM
Beach looked ok...but was offshore wind and Packed with people and cars..and kids running all over...
Afternoon came back to Seaview (Long Beach) and hit the water..wind switched North w. A little tad of West in it..heliboy50 - 4-8-2012 at 11:17 PM
Yeah, packed beach is an understatement. Went about 3 miles up and got some seat time. Back out tomorrow am.arkay - 5-8-2012 at 12:29 PM
beach at manzo was packed, light wind all day from the S. I put up my SA19 for a bit, JUST AFTER I took it down the wind picked up to 25... WTF.
glad my kite was not in the air. Temp was 86 but fell to 60 in 3h when the marine layer rolled in (finally). should be good today (at least down
here) around 2pm given the area weather.sunset-Jim - 5-8-2012 at 03:53 PM
It was much better today. We dropped 30 degrees yesterday in 2 hrs and 20 of that in just 1 hr. Today was back to normal, about 65 (at most) and a
LOT less people. Enough wind and open beach to get to a pretty fun speed No
GPS, can only speculate so I won't even say. But I did have to go onto the soft sand to pass some cars. Yeehawsand flea - 5-8-2012 at 08:16 PM
thank you all for taking the time for the updates, I appreciate it.
Looking forward to flying with you all soon.
So Stoked,

I believe it was the 6.7 Century II and the winds were approaching 15. A bit of a SW but still able to make it upwind without having to tack and fun
as all get out being that it was about the optimum angle going downwind. I so much wanted to pass the cars on the hard pack, but there just wasn't
quite enough of it to feel safe, so onto the soft stuff which slowed me down quite a bit. But, still able to get by em. Sure didn't take long to get
back from Del Rey...:wee:bigkid - 6-8-2012 at 08:43 AM
