Thanks for posting this!

Totally captures the spirit of the kitesurfing community and the pioneers that made it possible.

Awesome seeing Sean & Jessie Richman, Jalou Langeree and Ruben Lenten as youngsters - no wonder they are top of the game today.

Thanks Pistol.
I love that video. I think all newcomers should watch that to make them have a better attitude toward helping someone else out.
Back in the day, it was all so raw, that we were like a team! You just helped each other out. Now I go to popular kite spots and it's like nobody even talks to each other. Everybody seems so caught up in how cool they are that we've lost something good.

So many cool characters back then.

I always admired how Flash Austin figured things out all on his own in Florida with an old Flexifoil and skim board. Went to Hawaii and blew Robbie Naish away ! Never left !

It's true that the spirit has changed on popular beaches. I am glad that land kiting remains small and we hold on to that sense of sharing. I would hate to lose that.

will watch again.

Kiters are the only total strangers I feel happy walking up to and starting a conversation like they are already friends. I have not really encountered anyone who has thought they were "too cool" to talk to me or to wander up and say hello themselves.

Everyone I have met kiting has been friendly and willing to help so i'm always that way too. Share the stoke :D

Very interesting video! Makes me think of Power Kites and its progression. This sport is evolving fast too and some of us might be in a vid 20 years from now!
