FS: HQ Apex3 5m RTF *sold*

MeatÐriver - 13-5-2014 at 06:21 PM

For sale is an HQ Apex3 5m with bar/lines/bag. Very good condition w/ a couple of smudges of playa dust in a couple spots but next to unnoticeable, the white is still very white... havent even tried to clean it yet so it may even come right off. Still very crispy. Only one quite small damage spot that is even worth mentioning(see pictures) on the back side, didn't even notice it until i got on my hands/knees and put my face all but on it. Lines are in excellent condition with sooo much life left. Bar is clean with only some scuffs/scratches on the bar ends.

This was my first depower kite which i purchased from SouthPadreBurt last October(?)and in that short amount of time have had some good times with it(all my PBs) when the wind was crankin'.

Hoping to collect $375 for it. I'll cover shipping, paypal only. Feel free to U2U regarding any questions, etc.

**SOLD!**

How does the 5m Apex compare to your 6m Access in terms of power, speed, lift, upwind ability, useable window, etc.?

MeatÐriver - 14-5-2014 at 11:04 AM

Excellent query BRoc. Fact is, I just purchased the 6m so I'm unable to reply with a solid answer. I would actually love to do a side by side to get an objective comparison. Maybe if my offerings to Zephyros prove fruitful...I can do just that @ SOBB if it(the Apex) is still around. In such case, I will gladly relay my findings.

I feel they are/will be fairly similar. What I can say from personal experience, is that I do prefer the steering characteristics of the access 8m over that of the Apex(I know we're talking different kites w/ different wind ranges, but figure it's worth mentioning.) The Apex will definitely turn faster of course, though the response of the Access feels more direct while requiring less exaggerated bar inputs.

Truth is, the main reason for the "swap"is quality of life factors and also I am looking for just a tick more power. It's nice to have the same flight characteristics between kites, same bars, same safety etc. Speaking of which I much prefer the push away of the Apex, boggles my mind why Ozone didn't change over until this year. But now I'm just rambling. :D

this is stupid...all you wannabes passing on this?? learn dp w/ something manageable and have a high wind kite for ever i'm embarrassed for us

I paid more that this for my 3m apex and it needed a repair. He is practically giving this kite away. I agree with ABkayak on this. Excellent kite to get experience. High wind kite forever...
