upgrades! ATV rims!!

RedSky - 18-6-2014 at 04:19 PM

Following in the footsteps of Van and Coolbreeze I decided to get some ATV rims for my bug.

These rims are from DWT racing in the U.S.

Hope you like :) ...** MORE PHOTOS HERE ** :)

Me likey!!!!

Very nice!

Just to let others know... If you move up to a 10" rim, the rubber is way cheaper and way more options for tread.

Hey Redsky. What does the Dominator weigh with that setup?

PHREERIDER - 18-6-2014 at 06:16 PM

one sweet setup! is that a dominator or cheetah?

IMK - 18-6-2014 at 06:24 PM

Wow, that looks great!

I have the exact same rims for my rears:thumbup: Unfortunately I had a tire shop mount them the first time and they crushed one of them with their machine:mad: They ended up reimbursing me for the price of a new one. Lesson learned the hard way. I enlisted the help of an ATV dealer for the next mount job:thumbup: Love the dust caps!

Very nice! Perfectly shiny for the Dom too.

Interesting question. I don't know really. I'd say it's gained a little weight. Perhaps around an extra 7lbs. The new rims weigh about the same as the old standard 8x8 plastic rims. The new front rim quite a bit lighter.

Its the hubs that are weighty. Once you bolt those up they're noticeably heavier to handle.

That's a real shame. You must have been gutted. I'm glad you found someone who knows what they're doing. My local tyre fitters are old school and run by same family since 1936 providing great customer service. Nearly everything is done by hand. Thanks!

Thanks RonH, IMK and Bob. I can't wait to take it for a spin.... when the wind returns. ARRGH!

Very, very, very nice

just a fyi, the Yamaha bolt pattern is 4 x 110mm if you want different rims.

guess it'd depend on your axle hub/bearings.

Well done Tom, another great mod....
