I shipped my buggy along with kites and a bunch of goodies on Tuesday for delivery to WBB next week. I have most everything else ready to go along
with a ride to the airport, granddaughter will watch the place while were gone, mail has been stopped for the week, and other important things.
I am ready to have a great time at Wildwood Buggy Bash.
Now I have to see if my airplane ticket is refundable and how much trouble it will be to cancel my reservation at the Shalimar and try to get my buggy
and stuff sent back to me. I have never watched so much of the weather channel in my life. I know my problem isn't nearly as bad as those that live on
the East Coast, but I live 2500 miles away and its not looking good for me either.
I hope the best for everyone that will be effected by the hurricane, but it still sucks. abkayak - 1-10-2015 at 09:23 AM
Hey BK...if youve never been on the midatlantic for a decent hurricane you havent lived life
imo...come on down, its not like you have to worry about your house, worst case is you
stay in Philly for tue night then hit the beach....insert Philly joke here_______.hiaguy - 1-10-2015 at 09:50 AM
Come on over Jeff.
By the time the beach is ready for us (or vice versa) Joaquin will be a memory.
(That's my prayer, and I'm sticking' to it!)
... 7 days to WBB ...bigkid - 1-10-2015 at 09:58 AM
As long as I can land in Philly on Tuesday, I can do or go anywhere as long as I can get back to Philly the following Monday to fly home. Are the
leaves turning colors in Maine yet? I like the fall colors......as long as Joaquin leaves a few on the trees.mainekite2 - 1-10-2015 at 10:05 AM
BK they are starting to and I hear it's gonna blow.
Of course I'll be in wildwoodabkayak - 1-10-2015 at 10:23 AM
dont try and reason with hurricane season
Squalls out on the gulf stream,
Big storms coming soon.
I passed out in my hammock,
God, I slept way past noon.
Stood up and tried to focus,
I hoped I wouldn't have to look far.
I knew I could use a Bloody Mary,
So I stumbled next door to the bar....J.B.WELDNGOD - 1-10-2015 at 01:57 PM
It looks likely it will head out to sea. cheezycheese - 1-10-2015 at 02:07 PM
NJ just issued a state of emergency. Watching Gov.Christie now.shehatesmyhobbies - 1-10-2015 at 03:11 PM
Like Donnie said, looks like it may head out to sea! If it is looking that way now, the chances are that it may turn even sharper out to sea, giving
us a little rain on Tuesday, then hopefully some nice winds afterwards! We flew the day before a hurricane hit not all that long ago, e beach was
crowded with kites and buggies! Hurrican party at WBB in conference room! bugymangp - 1-10-2015 at 06:02 PM
Hey mark
Did you wish this hurricane on us since your not coming lol
I feel real good getting stronger and feeling better everydaycheezycheese - 1-10-2015 at 06:58 PM
So hurricane just means small LEIs and Arcs right? Since they'll survive the extra water
you'll get wet and you can fly the kite bag.hiaguy - 2-10-2015 at 05:09 AM
It's looking better for us
but Joaquin might not leave much wind in its wake:
Regardless, there's only... ... 5 days to go ... bigkid - 2-10-2015 at 06:11 AM
Watching the news it seems that the worst is yet to come. With all the flooding and the rainfall from Virginia south, hurricane Joaquin is going to
be a nasty mess all along the East Coast.
I decided last night to make the trip one way or the other. Even if there's no wind, no bugging, no beach, the people that come to this event are
worth the trip alone, even Konrad.
I think my pain meds are speaking at this point. Ha ha.
We leave in 4 days......shortlineflyer - 2-10-2015 at 06:27 AM
same here. I go for the people as much as the flyingabkayak - 2-10-2015 at 06:58 AM
gonna be 5 days min of astronomical tides prior to this event...you all could pbly set pb's up in what used to be the soft stuff...barrows should work
everywhere as well as atb's....we will have sun and winds.....good folks and beers
all in volock - 2-10-2015 at 07:24 AM

Fair enough... Then again, being landlocked in New Mexico, any water/sandy beach seems worth the cost... Not going to make it to WWBB but would love
to one day. Stay safe everyone
Latest storm track...?

Glad this is no longer an issue.shehatesmyhobbies - 4-10-2015 at 12:37 PM
Just spoke with Aldo from the Shalimar. All is well and they are awaiting our arrival! I am not sure what the beach looks like where we set up but
I'm sure it will be good to go in a day or so if it isn't already. If anyone from the city calls I will be sure to let everyone know ASAP. Let's get
this party started. One more day till I head out!
Wait... Joaquin has made a last minute move...
skimtwashington - 4-10-2015 at 07:00 PM
Oh wait again..
Joaquin just wanted to say hi to us for the WBB before it left!
