NAPKA's up to date.
I'll be there Tuesday evening and can't wait to see y'all...
in 32 days :wee: abkayak - 4-2-2016 at 07:15 PM
I'll show don't know when...but damn it ill showrofer - 5-2-2016 at 03:22 PM
It's come to my attention that I might actually be able to make it this year so I'm tentatively in.
Is there a more authoritative source about WBB info than this forum? I found an out-of-date webpage and Facebook group, but neither seem to have many
details in an easy to find place.WELDNGOD - 5-2-2016 at 04:30 PM
It's a PKF member event ,so this is where you get the down low. What do ya wanna know?volock - 5-2-2016 at 04:39 PM
shabooya sha sha shabooya?
Sorry, I had to get that out of my system... Have fun at WBB everyone, after my hospital stay earlier this year my big hope is that I can still make
it to IBX, no way I can swing going to WBB.hiaguy - 5-2-2016 at 05:25 PM
"Is there a more authoritative source about WBB info than this forum?"
Nope.
Love us, or hate us, we (the kids that show up there) are the best info source around.
So, like WG said: What do ya wanna know?
Really, it's easy:
Call the Shalimar to book your room: 609 522 0609;
Pack your car (bring all your kites so you can show them off and maybe use one or two);
Show up! Some people show up by Wednesday, but most arrive on Thursday. (Occasionally, someone shows up as early as Monday or Tuesday)
Most rooms have kitchens (just ask when you book) and there are BBQs.
The pool will probably not be open.
Hotel to sand is about 400 feet.
31 days to go!shehatesmyhobbies - 5-2-2016 at 06:06 PM
Sorry the FB page hasn't been updated, life has definitely been in the way lately, death in the family, father had heart surgery, and a work load that
all my buddies know that is non stop.
Howard and Donnie are right, most of the time, this is the best place to get info. Closer to the event, the Facebook page goes full throttle. I
actually just set the October date as well and will update here and on the FB page.
If you can make it, there is no doubt you will have a good time even if the wind doesn't blow, this crew has more toys than most I've seen. If the
wind blows just right, you will have the time of your life on the beach with a kite and buggy no doubt. There is always something going on.
We have an awesome group of guys and gals I gladly call family. Come join and become part of our family! shehatesmyhobbies - 5-2-2016 at 06:15 PM

Not sure what FB page you were looking at but the dates for spring are about three post down on the page. Sorry for any confusion. I will try and
figure out a way to make it stay in a title block somewhere on the page. rofer - 6-2-2016 at 09:16 AM
I think hiaguy covered the info I was most interested in. I found the dates and that there was a hotel where everyone was staying, but didn't know
which one it was or where people were actually flying.
Now all I have to do is join NAPKA and figure out if I can take the time off from work.rocfighter - 8-2-2016 at 07:30 AM
I will be there at least to give immoral support. And I might even fly a kite. I will have them and my buggy. I am working on talking TheKidd into
going too. I hope he does. I enjoy his company.
ps. Unless your buggy is bullet proof don't let him use it. :D:orocfighter - 8-2-2016 at 06:01 PM
Just got a call from TheKidd today saying he WILL be coming with me. This is awesome. We should be there on Tuesday he says!
This is one happy Dad.shehatesmyhobbies - 9-2-2016 at 03:29 AM
That's awesome news Dave! It will be good to see the Kidd and you on the beach at the same time again! skimtwashington - 9-2-2016 at 08:06 AM
Uh-oh
Punk alert!!
We know how to take care of The Kidd..
hiaguy - 16-2-2016 at 07:32 AM
I'm stuck in traffic - at a standstill - on the biggest highway in the country, 'cause of a freakin' snowstorm.
Sitting here counting down the days 'till I head to WBB...
and that count is: 21 Days!
It's not getting here soon enough. Kober - 16-2-2016 at 10:15 AM
..... I need to reserve my room ..... I will be there Wednesday or Thursday ...... flyguy0101 - 16-2-2016 at 10:23 AM
Also I will be getting in late Thursday or early Friday rofer - 16-2-2016 at 12:27 PM
How reliable is the wind at Wildwood? I can make it, but I'm worried about getting skunked on my limited vacation time.flyguy0101 - 16-2-2016 at 12:51 PM
@Rofer- In six years of going to wildwood I only remember one day with no wind as for being onshore and smooth- that's a crap shoot- it does happen
that we get perfect breezes but in early march it is unlikely that we will get an onshore breeze but since the beach is huge (no kidding I think it is
about a qtr mile from the boardwalk to the waters edge) we can utilize any direction in a buggy. as for hardpack and mtnboard- it takes some luck-
hope this helpsrofer - 16-2-2016 at 03:02 PM
So the wind is almost certain, but not necessarily clean, but the hardpack is unreliable? I'll definitely have to think about it then since the
mountain board is all I have for the land.
If I had a cheaper snowboard I might give kite sandboarding a try, but I don't want to do that to my real snowboard.hiaguy - 16-2-2016 at 06:43 PM
Wind is always a variable, but overall we've rarely had a day that hasn't had something rideable. As I recall, a "gusty" day there is still cleaner
wind than I'm used to at home.
If there's a 90 degree shift, the beach at North Wildwood is available - it's literally 3 miles away. But, there have been times that the "upper" part
of the beach has been almost as good as the hardpack (I'm hopeful that the beach-grooming trucks will still be in winter storage).
One of the reasons that WBB is so early this year is that conferences and the tides have played havoc with scheduling. With riders preferring the
hardpack at low tide, this is the latest/only low-tide-at-midday weekend available (before the tourists begin to clutter the beach).
Regardless, there's not a better group of people to learn from and enjoy spending time with. A bad day with the crew at WBB is better than an other
day at work.

Are we going to have a BBQ Saturday night
I can bring some fixings NewbieFrank - 3-3-2016 at 11:16 AM
So...are the official dates still March 8th -13th 2016? I might be able to roll on down there on the week-end 3/12 and/or 3/13. Depends on
what part of my anatomy my wife threatens to cut off. Some are more dear to me than others.

yes...and you can bring her...we dont bite some are very presentable, respectable, upstanding members of society..myself excludedhiaguy - 3-3-2016 at 02:28 PM
Absolutely! The best thing about her joining us is that she can see that this really is good clean fun - no need to worry about you.
I expect my wife to be joining us on Thursday, and we'll be leaving on Sunday morning. (She probably won't touch a kite, but will take lots of
pictures. Here's a link to the last WBB: https://flic.kr/s/aHskn1XT3d)
See you there! :wee:NewbieFrank - 3-3-2016 at 03:22 PM
Sweet pix. I even see some greybeards like myself attend! shehatesmyhobbies - 3-3-2016 at 05:14 PM
Good to have you down Frank, it's a great time and lots of experienced buggies to learn from to boot.
Glen, yes BBQ still Saturday, was thinking maybe a pot luck kind of thing. Rather then me run around and try to collect money we just all chip in,
bring something delicious and chow down. We can do it the old way as well, makes no difference to me.
Howard, I am on fire with angst to get on the beach and let'r rip!
5 more sleeps in Howard's words. Maybe 4. WELDNGOD - 3-3-2016 at 07:39 PM
