There is a guy here in Vancouver, BC... who was making them before for Dave & Luk. He had a couple sets sitting around that never sold so he sent them to Germany. I'll get back intouch with him again.

Jellis probably still has some instock.

Eli is working with GI on Vegas Hubs for buggies.

"Wellcome Mak" My first year there I had Luk and Eli take me for a tandum ride and thats why I'm "HOOKED",It was "SICK":singing: ! Thats the year they had speeds like 78 mph and they where flying by me when I was driving a mustang off the playa.Eli and luke were running paralel to the cars on highway and they looked slow .theres one tandum there thats like a firetruck ladder in length, you can stear almost to the side of the driver. It's a blast .hope oyu bring a camera and good company but if by yourself ,you'll get a warm wellcome !I promice once you go ,you'll return year after year and find it hard have fun at home like on the "PLAYA";) I just noticed above my avitar that I'm a tandum rider.I didn't put that there:puzzled:I will check out Corey or ask Eli cause I'd like to go home with a set of chrome solids instead of the split rims I have now.Anything comes up give me a heads up.Thanks RSK;)

bbrex - 20-1-2008 at 06:18 PM

Hey Joe
I'm looking forward to seeing you making the first turn after I've already made the second turn. Susan and I are bringing some secret weapons to fly for the races, she'll be finishing up the first one this coming week I hope. I can hardly wait to get there. I'll be bringing my new toy trailer so I have plenty of room to carry buggies, for those who are flying from Texas.
Joe, I have your bigfoot down tube also.

Crash - 20-1-2008 at 08:34 PM

Hey Sue ,I thought you were talking about Glenn Padro. This guy From my area,"Tyrone" will be attending with some friend's he's bringing for the first time .He asked me about any others who might have nasa wings.I know he's down .I hope you meet each other .I talked about 6 people into attending this year for their first time .Hopefully like me ,they will return year after year .;)

kitemaker4 - 20-1-2008 at 09:16 PM

Yelp I am talking about GlennP. I am bringing a newbe with me this year also. He has been buggying for I think over 4 years now and this will be his first time on the playa. Tell the new guy to look for the nasa wings. I will be flying them the whole event and there will be others too.

Counting the days.

See ya.
Susan

Crash - 20-1-2008 at 10:09 PM

Great !I've tried The one Tom bought from ya at the beach and pretty cool in tight places like parkinglots.I guess I'll be going home with one from ya too.I now have an airport to kite and sail on anytime of the year ,the beaches here in NY are seasonal and even then ,it's iffy if they want to kick us off.I'm counting the days till all that open space:spin:

bugymangp - 21-1-2008 at 08:26 AM

hey gang
no i didn`t get married. just not in my cards. i guess. terry calls my 2 meter kite. my wife!!!
the 1930 chevy is in a thousand pieces right now. i got the trans out doing a new clutch. brakes and front end apart. trying to hunt down new parts. after that. the rear end comes apart.
me and jason will be at nabx on the 27th thur the 6th.
hey susan.
thanks for the heads up on the npws. i`ll pull them all apart and redo them before nabx. only kidding.

bbrex - 21-1-2008 at 08:39 PM

Hey Glenn
You better do something to them, (like rub some speed dust on them or something) as they are last years models. Unless you don't mind watching what the new models will be doing from behind me.

Brad

It will be tough being beaten by a newbie to NABX. But you won't be the only one.

Land sailor?

ickyrex - 23-1-2008 at 03:27 PM

Brad,
Are you bringing your landsailer? I hope so, can't wait to see it ramped up at speed.
Did not really get a chance to see it move too much @ DBBB>
Counting the days.....see you there.

Jason

bbrex - 23-1-2008 at 06:32 PM

Hey Jason

Yes I will have my landsailor with me, Susan and I will get there on the 29th. We will spend a day or two at pre-event
then come play with ya all. I can't wait to put it to the test. If I go really fast in it and feel comfortable with it I may try taking the mast off and turn it into a hybrid kite buggy and try for the speed record?
I guess the secret is out.

Brad

NPWfever - 23-1-2008 at 08:35 PM

Anyone had any luck fitting a windsurfing sail onto a buggy? Started with the intent of a landsailor and finished my sexy NPW9b!!! Where is this held? I would really like to show up if I can! :D And the others that have made large NPW's how does the spagetti work out? I have issues with the bridles on my 5. Looking at something in the 10m range for those light wind buggy days.

kitemaker4 - 23-1-2008 at 08:51 PM

On larger nasa wings if you use the cascade bridle it calls for 1/3 less bridle lines. I try to make loops instead of knots. I find that knots snag on too many things.

Susan

NPWfever - 23-1-2008 at 09:04 PM

I used the cascade system on my 5m as well, just seems like on a 13m (What I am looking at to fill my gap) the bridles would be crazy long. The knot issue is a bummer but I find that if I tie the bridles b4 packing up they stay nice and clean. Do you know of any cheap sources of fabric? I spent $50 on my 5.5 and would need to order some more bridle line. What is a good weight for a 13m NPW9b? 100#? That should cost me about $15 (Dacron, yeah I know, but only on the bridles. I have had no issues with it on the 5.5m) Has anyone had any luck spraying their kites? I saw a can of tent silicone spray for $7 the other day and would like to keep as much UV damage from my kite as possible, I would like to have it for a LOOONG time. It was my first kite and kinda holds a spot in my heart (hence the NPWfever) :D

Hey Brad,
It won't be hard to beat me around the first lap if this year is anything like two years ago. I was so overpowered I couldn't make the first turn into a close reach. All I could do was slide sideways. I almost made it to the highway before I finally could make the back leg. I think I may have set a record distance for a single lap! :wow: And the fact that I jumped the start didn't help either! Sure had fun doing it though!
I may take you up on the ride for my buggy. Are you going to Superior during the pre-event? If so that would work out great. I just need to figure out an economical way to get it to you. Hopefully Dave and I will be pulling onto the lake bed between 1 & 2 pm on the 29th.
Thanks for hanging on to the down tube for me. I may have to wait until after NABX to get it from you if we don't meet up before then. I definately won't need it on the playa!

Thanx
Joe

Hey Joe
I think Dave has talked with Susan and that we will pick your stuff up on the way through if we don't meet up before hand for a race in Galveston. I believe Superior is where Susan wants to go for pre-event. We will be rolling in some time on the 29th also.

Hey Joe

We could do the buggy exchange like we planed last year in Suguin (sp) if we do not meet up before in Galveston.
