My top speed is like 39.7 mph
on a Landyachtz urban assault
skateboard with seismic trucks
and 110mm Abec wheels
on cement
the kite was likely the 2m ozone samurai 1
in super high winds

50.9 mph GPS'ed out at Ivanpah
Dirtsurfer 16" Flexi Freestyle and a Kitewing Rage 5.5 in about 30+ winds.
I have a video of me hitting 49.something a few weeks later on the same board with a Kitewing IV8. I was towing a rider on a dirtsurfer behind me in
about 35+ winds. We headed upwind for as long as I could manage and then we peeled off on a far reach. He let go off the tow rope and I slingshoted
downind incredibley fast. What a ride that was, I gained 25 mph in the blink of an eye

On a dirt surfer you crazy fool!!!!!
Never tried one but seem really unstable???
nhlrule56 - 8-5-2008 at 03:57 PM
WOW - - That is just nuts going that fast on something standing up. I
can just picture hitting something, anything, and going over forward. Maybe its just because I am close to 40 and don't heal as fast. I'll leave
those speeds to guys that are much younger and way more guts than I do.

Not once at 50 did I feel unstable or out of control. Speed=stability on a dirtsurfer. I'd be more scared to ride those speeds on a 4 wheel board

Top speed for me so far is 62mph (Garmin e-Trex venture gps) on the Ivanpah buggy at Ivanpah about 3 weeks ago. Looking to go faster!
SecondWind - 9-5-2008 at 11:54 AM
51.7mph on skis is my personal best.
I've only been up to 28 mph with my Dirtsurfer and that is fast enough for me
doublespeed360 - 10-5-2008 at 06:17 PM

48.7 mph on sand on a Dirtsurfer with Kitewing - here's what it looked like

This next one is just 40mph but it shows how stable a dirtsurfer is.

dirtsurfers have an advantage: Gyroscopic force , with a bigger wheel and being inline like a bicycle or motorcycle. You gain the benifit of
gyroscopic force , the faster you go the more it wants to stay in a plane 90 degrees to its axis. so you get the opposite of speed wobble. I don't
have one but they look cool.Is it hard to carve at high speed?

i have no idea, but have easily hawked the beach patrol down and they cruise about 25mph in the open. really hard to judge. i don't have a GPS. 12m
kite and 15-20mph on a MBS core 16. i would assume maybe 25-30mph. i may have hit forty a few times but hard to say. i knew more by distance a 2
mile stretch, with dead onshore, i can return to my pack in less than 5min. maybe even less. i really haven't paid that much attention to it.
higher winds usually puts me on the water.
what GPS would be a good start and waterproof too?
