When: Feb. 7, 2009
Where: Ocean Beach San Francisco, CA
Time: noon – 4pm
What will be there to fly:
Flexifoil: Blurr and possibly blade IV
Pansh: Sprint, Legend, Ace
Peter Lynn: Reactor
HQ: Neo, Apex 2, Montana 4
More kites might be added before the event.
This demo day is an “unofficial” event. There will be no kites for sale the day of the event. This is just a friendly get together to meet up with
other local pilots and fly all the new kites. Everyone one is welcome no matter your skill level. If you’re a newbie this will be a great chance to
try some kites and get some advice and pointers from other pilots. So bring your harness or borrow one and come out and fly some kites with us.
Everyone do your wind dance!! If you just recently bought a new kite please leave it at home ... We DO NOT need you bringing the new kite curse with
you!! I already have enough of that curse.logantheninja - 16-1-2009 at 07:53 PM

Well it's just about time! Flexiblade, What does the weather look like? I belive it is going to rain thurs-fri. There should be a pretty good chance
for sat to be good.flexiblade - 4-2-2009 at 09:22 PM
Not really, from what I've been seeing Saturday may be a wash - maybe 6 to 8mph at most - Sunday looks much better - and Monday is fluctuating from
good to epic. DAKITEZ - do you want to reschedule?
P.S. kitedog: if there's wind when you come through odds are I'll be there.DAKITEZ - 4-2-2009 at 09:35 PM
I have other things going on in SF on saturday. This is why i picked this day from the beginning. Since I am already going to be there anyway the demo
day is still on. everyone feel free to give me a call and see if there is any wind. This wouldn't be the first time I sat on OB with no wind. Lets
just hope the scenery is good
The only thing that sucks is a montana IV is arriving on friday and needs to be shipped out on monday. So hopefully saturday or sunday I will be able
to get it up and give it a go.
Also want to thank HQ kites for supplying me with the montana IV for the demo day! Great bunch of people i can't say enough good things about them
AD72 - 4-2-2009 at 11:45 PM

The wind gods have corrected me - Saturday has just upgraded - Morning slow but after 1:00 should be picking up steadily.DAKITEZ - 5-2-2009 at 09:14 AM

Flexi, Thanks for the up date on the school girl.:puzzled: Errr. Something like that. See ya guy's there. Quick question about the sand. What kinda tire pressure do you run? I have yet to buggy on sand. I have the new
slicks I got for nabx last year they should be fine but may need a little more air.DAKITEZ - 7-2-2009 at 08:31 AM
I'm leaving now ... see you all there !
The montana almost didn't make it, but after a 2 hour round trip at 10pm last night to get it from the ups hub we are good to go :wee:Dutch - 7-2-2009 at 08:45 AM

I just wanted to thank everyone that came out. It was good to see all of you again. It would of been a little better if we had more wind, but I still

That's not much help !!!! We can ALWAYS have a bit more wind !
How much wind ? How many survived?
What was the kite of the day ?
WE had the same 5mph as last Saturday :megan:lunchbox - 8-2-2009 at 09:55 AM
Whose got the pics...oimust - 8-2-2009 at 11:06 AM
Super good time
It was great trying all the different Kites kitedog - 8-2-2009 at 05:45 PM
I'm going to be hitting OB for my annual pilgrimmage on February 20, 21, 22. I hope the wind blows and I get a chance to meet some of you guys! The
tides look decent.AD72 - 8-2-2009 at 07:18 PM
Thank you Dakitez. I had a good time meeting everyone and trying out Dakitez Neo 14m and Screweyfits Blade. I am sure they would both behave
entirely different with more wind. The Neo has some stump pulling force behind it even in low wind. I have some photos I will figure out how to post.
I just got back from the Sod farm in Davis. I got out there at 3:45 and flew till dark. It was a blast! I registered average 15mph wind speed and
gusts up to 19mph. The Beamer 3 was pulling me along at a good clip. I got my fix! :wee:Dagon - 9-2-2009 at 10:45 AM
I missed you all, I was there on sunday. Nice wind but not the greatest of directions. It was blowing a bit too much from the south for my taste.
There were a lot of kites in the air. We have had some very nice tide schedules at ocean beach this time of year. It should be a very nice season.Sthrasher38 - 9-2-2009 at 06:23 PM
Thanks Dakitez for everything. The extra trip at the last min to get a glimpse of the Montana was cool. It was good to see everyone. I stayed for sun
also like Dagon said it was pretty good There was alot of kites in the air quite a few people to. but for being my first time on sand I loved it. BR,
Kite of the day had to be the 14m Neo. Wind was a weak 6mph. to 0. Right before I packed up. Everyone survived.Bladerunner - 9-2-2009 at 07:01 PM

That's good to hear. I had an 11m Neo on loan and spent a LOT of time flying it in 5 or 6 mph winds. It was just falling short of giving a ride or
even just sitting up top. Sad because it's a nice kite and a was hoping to see it in it's element ! The only other wind I had was way too much. Even
then I could remain earthbound as long as I kept the bar out and never moved the kite too far too fast! :o
