Does anybody know if they make a helmet suitable for kiting in the 65cm and up range.( Big head of hair). I have a xl(62cm) snowboard helmet right now
but it sits like a yamaka up there on my noggin. I dont think its doin what its suppose to.
I have three children that need me not to be in diapers. Any thoughts would be great.

Skate?
Multi-Sport (more coverage to back of the head)?
Moto (chinbar)?
This should be doable... this is the sizing for Bell Moto Helmets:
E shell: (M:57-58CM:7 ¼), (L:59-60CM:7 ½)
F shell: (XL:61-62CM:7 ¾), (XXL:63-64CM:8.0)
Giro Sizing in your range runs like this:
XL 23 - 23.75 in / 59 - 60.5 cm
XXL 23.75 - 24.5 in / 60.5 - 62.5 cm
What you might be running into is that different manufacturers' helmets skew more towards one shape head vs. the other. Generally it is described as
round vs. egg. It might just be a matter of finding a helmet that better suits your head shape.

Except for the "apparent wind indicator", my preference is generally for short hair that I can finger comb as I am running for the train.
Unfortunately at that length, wind drying generally leading to a close approximation of "squirrel" hair.

I just find that helmets are a lot easier to deal with if you don't have to worry about getting the hair out of the way when you put them on. But I
can understand not wanting to cut it.

I dont know what kind of helmet i might need, mainly for atb on soccerfield grass, but for the occasional lofting as well.
The problem is that i have been to all the ski, bike, and skate stores in my area to try on but the biggest they can get is 62cm. so, that leaves
the internet which means no trying on. and with all these kites im buying I cant afford the crap shoot.
I got my hair cut about 10 years ago. Now I just trim it about waist length, I trimmed about 6" off my beard before going to Antigua. Sandy was sooo
happy!!

SIXSIXONE makes several XL skateboard helmets that are very reasonably priced. I have the same problem, Im just a physically large guy, and I don't
even have the hair problem. I am 28 years old with a very short haircut and going bald. There are several makes of motocross helmets that are that
large as well.
i bought mine online... skates.com... just call them.. tell them the dimensions, and they'll send you the right bucket... ive got a huge melon, and
this was an issue for me... i placed my order, after having them tell me it would fit... well it didnt. they sent me a ups label, and tried again...
new bucket fit well..
if you find the right "store" they'll work to take care of ya... especially if you corner a customer svc rep, who told you one thing, but it went the
other way....
All in all... took me a couple weeks to get the right bucket, but its all good now
good luck

My most perfect days have been on Jekyll
FWIW: XsportsProtective is pretty good to deal with. I bought a Giro through them. Alas, Giros have a fair latitude in sizing, and I had to return
it for a smaller size as I was right at the cusp of two sizes.
They didn't offer a UPS label and I didn't ask about it as the service rep probably couldn't have given me a definitive answer based on where I was on
the Giro sizing chart.
They are in OH and I am in MA. I got the original helment and the exchange in two days each time. I just sent back the original helmet on the mule
train for not too much and my account was credited when they got the package.
All in all a pretty no muss transaction. I don't know the S-One brand, but my experience with the retailer was pleasant enough.

I have a similarly giant Mellon, I got the Giro G9 (which I think is on to the g10 now) but the xxl fits me quite comfortably on my 7 & 7/8ths
dome (room to spare actually). It has a ratcheting adjustment, similar to a hardhat, that is very effective for adjustment on the fly. The helmet it
big enough that I can loosen it up and fit a thin hat under it in the winter. Well worth the slightly high cost. You should check it out, it's the
only helmet I've found that's comfortable for me, and I ordered and returned about 10 before I found it.

10 ?!?! Does USPS have a frequent flyer program?
Giro is indeed up to G10 now, and still has the In Form sizing system, adjustable venting, and removable ear pads for cooler weather.

I appreciate all the feedback, thats good to know about the reailer being decent to deal with, that goes along way with internet ordering. I think I
was just trying to avoid buying and trying ten different lids to find the right one. Three kids and a full time business I dont have a lot of time to
spare. also got save some time for kiting too, :singing:
thanks again guys
