With Josh getting banged up on his last trip there were things like planning t-shirts that kind of went on the back burner. So, no t-shirts this
year.
There are no planned events this year as this is not an event, next year will be different (right Josh! lol) This is just a bunch of us getting
together to ride together, eat together, and lie to each other.
Josh and I have already been talking about next year. I'll be at the lake bed starting Wednesday Oct 9th and I am planning on leaving Monday Oct
14th.
I am reposting the minimal list here. Also Josh brought up a good point on FB. Bring a gps and know how to use it. With in a matter of minutes you
can be miles from where you call base camp, and everything looks the same. For those that have been to Ivanpah, this lake bed is as wide as Ivanpah
is long.
This is just a minimal suggested camping list for those wishing to camp on the lakebed.
4 season tent with rain fly. The more poles for structure the better. Winds at night can be brutal.
1-zero degree rated sleeping bag per person
Foam sleeping pad, or thin air mattress. Stay away from the thicker air mattresses, they tend to deflate and get cold.
Flash lights, Flash lights, Flash lights!
Camp stove of some kind with fuel.
Don't forget to bring something to cook food in, and eat with.
Clothing for all conditions. High temps during the day and cooolllddd at night! I would suggest a stocking hat for nights to keep your head toasty
while you sleep.
Duh Food! You are two hours from the closest grocery store.
Water, 2 liters a day per person folks. See above.
Do you take prescription medications for any reason. Bring them.
This place is huge and can be unforgiving. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
This is just a minimal suggestion list. Bring what you need to be safe and comfortable.
Remember to have fun, and be safe.

Just talked to a friend in Bend who spoke to a lady who lives on Alvord Saturday. She says that none of the coastal rain has gotten there. The big
ladsailors where there on the weekend, sailing was great.

Here's a few pictures. Sorry I couldn't stay longer. Next time we'll bring an RV and camp closer. Also, I was feeling under the weather most of the
time.
At least we had a little bit of wind Friday evening.

Over all things were great. Along with a bit of time to clean out the trailer, trying out the new sleds and banners, BBQing, night flying with lights
on the kites, playing with RC trucks, planes, and helicopters, Blokart/landsailing, there was some great kite bugging.
I think Ryan is a new convert to Loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnng line kite bugging.
200' with an 8m will fly in zero wind, right guys? HaHaHaHa
A jet car, flat tire, strawberry milkshakes, a coyote skull and an bunch of bazaar coyote screams, good music, ice cream bars, Scooter, Lindsay, and
Levi, along with an international cast of characters, it was one heck of a good time.
Thanks one and all for the fun, and good time.

Thanks Caleb, love the pic of me and Gerald aka buggeyed. that was an awesome last minute 25 mile run. and yes! camp closer next time, we won't bite
(well I can't speak for Jeff but....) we had good winds late Saturday afternoon then calming after sundown for some smooooooooth static flying with lights.
Sunday the winds came around noon and was going strong when we left that evening. on Sunday, Gerald, Ryan and I had some 45+ mph runs! Ryan, I will
nickname him "The Wild One" had an OBE but came away with just a big ole smile on his face what a character

I had a great time at Alvord. We had some wind each day ,but Sunday was the best. It was blowing 15-20 mph all afternoon making for some fast runs.It
was good to see everyone out there, looking forward to doing it again next year.

It's nice to know I have so many friends, thanks Dirt and Mike.
I sent the pic to Renee that morning and she responded back with something to the effect about her libido and being homeless, helped to make the day a
bit better. Now I even feel sorry for Renee and those of you that have to look at me.:P
At least Levi still loves me.:puzzled:

Coyotes won't hurt you, they were just looking for a meal, probably smelled the BBQ. the worst they do is creep you out with there yipping. but they
keep their distance from any human. I delt with these while I lived in Mann Creek, I had a great pyrenees to protect the chickens.
