Rob,
The 5 Lakes Challenge was originally conceived to encourage visitors to explore more of the Mojave Desert.
We identified 5 surrounding dry lakebeds (the specifics have altered over the years) and even plotted a route to make the trip contiguous.

But it is all an elaborate facade.

To hide the fact that we do not control our power source.
We play when we can - Not always when it is scheduled.

The surface varies from lake bed to lake bed and from year to year.
Each year we strive to ride the best the desert offers us.

My personal favorites are Elmer's, Superior 1, 2 & 3, Silurian and Red Lake.

The reward, as in life itself, is not the destination but the journey.

The nabx event takes place at Ivanpah Dry Lake (unless weather puts us elsewhere) but the opportunity to do a bit more while you're out here is what things like the Pre-Event and 5 Lakes Challenge are about.

If you want to leave during the vent to buggy other spots... Just have a validated re-entry pass to get back in without having to pay again.

Thank you.

The response to the idea of a Buggy Safari to the Pre-Event was sufficient.
We have 5 confirmed.

I'm ready to consider that a full-load unless a last-minute plea is heard.

We'll have a BIG pot of coffee perking every morning in camp and ALL are welcome to join us for a morning eye-opener.

Bring your own cup.

I am looking forward to a good-un!
