Ssayre we should caravan down there. If you are bringing the family, Itay and I are going to be driving from Friday evening till Saturday afternoon I think. You will have the best kiting of your life down there man. It is ten times better than even my awesome little pocket of sand and water here. The space is just hard to fathom for a land locked kiter. You will hit speeds you have never hit before, and learn skills you never thought you would. Going to a kiting event at such a perfect venue like this is a definite must to really build the stoke you have for the sport.

You need to get and bring a GPS to actually clock your speeds and see if you actually do hit 40, Demo!

Sean,... You gotta come!

If money and work allows, I will come. My wife works at a school and usually never takes any time off aside from the normal breaks the whole school takes. I know she won't want to take the whole week off so I'm considering flying in for the first half or last half of the event. If I fly in, could I take my landboard on the plane or should I ship my buggy back and forth? I would prefer the buggy so I could spend time riding and not falling but it might be easier to travel with the board.

If I can't drive down for some reason, I will be shipping my buggy and flying. I have taken my landboard on planes before. The trick was that I had it strapped to a kite bag and it was considered carry-on, but you have to gate check it with the strollers and wheelchairs. You basically just set it outside the door of the plane on the ramp and they take it under for you. When you land, they bring it back to the same place.

Hope you bring both, but I am with you on preferring the buggy. Once I get more practice on landboards, I might see it differently. For now, I am all about the speed, long power slides, and deadman turns :)

If I end up going by myself I might see if I could ride with you guys. If I go by myself it will upset the delicate balance of fun between my wife and I though :)

Times like this is why I wish I had an extra PL folding buggy. To help those that have to fly, or have no space, and can't bring their buggy. I could just fold it up and toss it on the roof, etc.

Thanks for the thought Jason. I would probably just ship my buggy if I fly. Hopefully being a small and light buggy, shipping wouldn't be too bad. Has anyone shipped a standard pl xr that know approximately what that would cost?

For the record, I have flown with my landboard a few times. Just make sure it is strapped to a backpack or something so it seems like one item. It should be considered carry-on but they will ask you to leave it by the gate as you get on the plane with the strollers and gate check luggage. Make sure you get a tag from the ladies at the gate desk to be sure you have a tag for it. If I had to guess, shipping a buggy would be about $50 each way just because of the large box. If you think about it though, that is barely more than checking a bag.
