I haven't flown either (I have a Blaze though and love it), but maybe something along the lines of a Buster or a Beamer? I think it's AR might be higher than both of those, although I haven't checked (just eyeballing).

Let us know what you think of the Ace when it arrives... I'm not so interested in a 5m but if they start selling different sizes then I'm very interested...

MY REVIEW.

took the ace out today on the beech, wind was 12 mph my friend whos an experienced flyer came along.(im a novice)
im 14 stone, 6ft tall after adjusting the crappy lines which were 16 inch out, got it in the air with what felt like hardly any wind, the thing dragged me about 10ft across the sand (on my feet) then took it to the zenith and it lofted me bout two ft, which was my first experience of this and scudding then took it into the power window and holy sh*t it scudded me about 20 ft then i lost balance but still keeping hold got dragged across the beech and hurt my shoulder. back up again and im loving the power speed and everything about this kite it turns perfectly for me and flys beautifully. best £52 i ever spent........i am now addicted.
I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST IF YOUR A NOVICE LIKE MYSELF.
DONT FLY THIS KITE ALONE.. take an experienced person with you....

So would the fly lines from these kites be acceptable as brake lines ???? Could I move the fly lines to brake and install Dyneema or Q line for the flying lines?

I am very tempted by this kite, but I am going to buy a 4.5 razor instead, I figure that will be a better long term choice for me. but $99 is such a sweet deal.
it seems pansh is avoiding paying international tarriffs on these kites by designating them "promotional" I wounder how long this will last

I flew the ace today in 10 to 13 mph winds - nice work Pansh

I used the stock lines and handles. Once I shortened up the power lines (brakes were way too tight if you used the factory knot on the hanldes), she flew quite well.

Smooth power delivery and very stable. Reminds me of the 5.5m ProFoil. I'll give some more feedback once I fly it more.

One more question for those who have tried one. I'm thinking this may be good as my small kite for jumping. 5 is close to my bullet 4.5 but at about 145 lbs it may be very functional on the board, blades and skis if it has lift. I don't use the 4.5 for jumping on purpose. Would the ace work for a little guy ?

My first impression is yes - it definitely has lift.

However, for Skiing or boarding, I would still choose a depowerable. They just handle the gusts so much better.

But...for $100 shipped, it's not a bad deal at all

would anyone dare to compare this 5m ace to a 4.9 blade III?
I would love to hear what people have to say, I have flown the 4.9 blade and I love it, but not the price.

So far, I think a Bego 400 or a 4.9m Blade III or IV would offer a lot more performance.

But I really need to get it out in better winds to be sure...

I'm sure you are better at setting up than I am. Have you tried it 2 line ? To me this would be a starting point if my brakes didn't respond as expected ? Then start with max. slack on the brakes and work up the knots ?

I'll be interested in all tuning tips you may have. Not just for the Ace but in general would be nice !!!

Blaze 7m or Ace 5m

Now, at this point its the blaze 7m and Ace 5m that ill be considering to buy the next day. Obviously, its the blaze 7m which could create more power because of its greater size but can the Ace 5m level the lifting capability of the 7m blaze since the ace 5m has an aspect ratio 0f 4.53, much greater compared to blaze having an AR of 3.2? Novice here, need your expert ideas

I don't think the AR is the only factor that affects the lift a kite produces - many race kites have high aspect ratios but produce very little vertical lift. I'm guessing the lift a kite produces is more to do with the profile of the wing? Someone else can probably give you a better explanation?

Yes,

This happened to someone in Canada almost a year ago. The nice folks at Canada Customs SLASHED the package open with a box knife. :flaming: Pansh was very good. Sent him a new kite and told him he could keep the other.
I now pack my kites for shipping with that in mind. You would think pansh could fix the problem with an international " No cutting " sticker :puzzled:
I'm sure if you refuse reciept and contact them they will make good.

Here is the new warning from our friends at Pansh about the Ace 5.0:

ACE is not designed for beginners. It is necessary to fly ACE with safety accessories. Otherwise you may easily get hurt

Do they have lawyers in China?! Did anyone approve this lawsuit waiting to happen?! Buy your kite now before they are shut down for stupidity!

Just got back from vacation to the NJ shore and I got in some time (about 3 hrs total) with the Ace.

I used a Flexifoil lineset and Flexi handles and no other adjustments were needed - the kite flew very well

One day the winds were about 20 mph and I was very impressed with the long pendulum jumps I was getting.

It's not as snatchy or as powerful as a 4.9 Blade III, but its a great bang for the buck
