OK, the 12m Synergy is here. I've read the manual several times where it talks about the adjustments. Pardon the pun but could you guys with experience with these give me some hints on making "synergistic" adjustments? I can see the individual adjustments and their effect on flight, but where is a good starting point and which way and how much on everything adjusting from low winds to high winds. I'll have a week in about 3 weeks on the beach and want to start out in a good setting and have an idea what to experiment with from there. Don, I saw that you seemed to like the second knot from the kite on the vpc and 3/4 in on the center strap. Good place to start? AJ, Angus, Domdino and others, I'd love to hear what you've learned so far.

After almost a year I am still flying my 10m and 15m SYNs on the stock Zero7 bar with the bridle set to the middle and all straps set to the middle. I have seen no need to try any other settings for my conditions at home. It is a real pain for me to play with settings so lucky for me the performance, stability and wind range, everything seems excellent. I don't buggy but I do use them on water, snow and on groundboard. I think it is a personal preference thing.

Here is onother persons perspective on the many ways you can fly these kites... http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/arcusers/message/34219

def a fan of extensions . the post i read on arc users is very close to the style and settings i use..

full through at the bar

mostly all the way out
but have been using 1/2 way settings for a little better upwind performance

once moving, close to stall as the ride allows

depower for relaunch as described

the extensions gives longer power stroke (might be the >190lb. thing)

this is a venom/phantom application
running higher back line tension on the phantom and smoother turns reduces bowties
my impressions
nice arcusers post

What creds do you have to have to get through the gate? We stayed there in a rental house 14 years ago and I remember the security check at the gate. There are many high profile folks up on the north end of the island that wouldn't want interlopers wandering up on their porch. Should make for some good runs especially up near the golf course among other places.

Been there a couple times, Beachwalker park is towards the south end.

Right when you get to that gate, pass the traffic circle, turn right, this takes you to Beachwalker Park. 7 bucks gets your vechile in.

Don't take a dog, if your going south away from people there is a Plover sign down there, No Dogs Pass This Point !! figures,,,

I don't know where that cam is located, was thinking it might be down at the park.

out at Folly yesterday afternoon, winds 13 to 15, Synergy, Phantom, and Venom only ones out on the water. Demoed and old 5'2 RRD directional with the Phantom, not bad at all. Couldnt stay upwind very well but made a nice downwind pass. My son is making nice transitions and really getting the knack of kitesurfing. After watching AJs videos, he has decided on a Crazy Fly all round 145x48. Todays was "the" water session so far for Nate. Basically, we was the only one out, and held his line against the current very well.........................

@ Rip and BladeR,

Ive had my Syn wing tip straps a little less than halfway in and VPC bridle to the next to last knot towards the leading edge and she drives upwind very well. Not sure what the Charger will require. I viewed the bridle pics over on Flexis forum. I assume the bar pressure will be less and tuen even faster?................................:lol::duh::duh:

yeah sunday afternoon was on here! hit SEABROOK isl. couple weeks back, very nice flat and 20mph and of course the beach was empty. worked the south inlet up wind to give the club house a show.

reread some of the thread ,, my be a bit late

the arcs like a fast board, flat bottom style will squeeze all the bottom end.

concave bottoms/channels are great controlled rides but require a fraction more wind some even more. slick/ flat with tips rocked up seems chop friendly and big fins makes it controllable early in learning, points and holds line effortlessly. heavy weights go wider not longer.

any way ,

don i do have a 145 flat board with some monster fins(somewhere) if you want to give it a run? it's out of my rotation. if not maybe pass it on to mel or bob. great light wind machine.

I wouldn't mind trying that out the next time (if not spoken for) we can get together with some water nearby. I see myself on the water very soon but don't know what will be best for me boardwise. Most of my riding will be on a nearby lake that would have some wind chop/rollers. Don has a LF that he might hand down to me soon as well. I should get to try it in a few weeks with a visit to Charleston.

it will get you up for sure and orient you to riding but your board skills will want more fairly quickly, you are welcome to it. with the fins off it's alot more fun, so it has a little range

Be nice to demo a couple boards from you guys when we get together. I moved the fins on the DIY board of ours out to the very ends. My son has been riding it behing the boat and it seems much more stable. Look forward to seeing everyone.

This kite is quickly making me a better kiter !

Having Rip' with me yesterday allowed me to feel right about flying the Syn. in the 20+ kt range and the kite was still just comig alive !!!!!! I see now that Rip' was right when he said he liked it at 27kts .I also think that following him is helping as well. Jumps with this kite in a good wind are the best I have ever had.

I am having a hard time getting over the mental part of launching a 15m kite when Scudley has just been sent for the worst superman you have ever seen with a 4m Reflex and TDMC is tearing it up with a 2m Ace.
