Still hoping to get a better understanding of how come the Navigator bar is SOoooo important to this kite.
Will the new bar improve older kites?

In my little mind the stiffer structure and VP3 are the key to the better handling more so than the bar.

:puzzled:

For one thing it is a longer throw

I'm sure (I hope) there is more, since it is said to cost a good bit more than the current bar. There better be a built in beer holder...

I am just itching for more info on this thing.
From the little I get it won't have below the bar trim. That is something I had very much hoped for.
I sure would like to see a picture of a Proto' or something. :eureka:

I'm not a fan of below the bar trim. I would have used a different bar if they went that route. It is a bummer there is no picture of the bar. With it costing more we're all just buying on blind faith that it is in fact worth it.

I want to know how these folks got their hands on these kite ?

Did they come with the Navigator bar ? It looks like the Twin Skin bar in the Vid?

Can ANYBODY show me a picture of the Navigayor bar ? How about a review of the bar ? Even an explanation of the bar would be nice !

hmmmmmm. Well, from the reviews I've read so far it sounds like this kite is more powerful than most of the others compared at size? This guy on kiteforum is saying he has an 8m and is already getting good jumps in 17 knots? and that's on water!
http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2360229&p=61807...

I'm wondering if a 15m might be too much as an all-rounder... maybe i should be looking at a 12m for the allaround kite i'm lookin for... Since it IS faster maybe it'll be able to make some good pull even in the lower wind days? Man... so tough.

I read where someone is saying early November now. I'll pick one up in the spring or so when we can just pick up the phone and get one on the way. I'm well arcified in the meantime. (Yes I'm a little disenchanted)

Forgive me but I'm getting confused.

I think I also read on a Faq page on arcs that 15 inch is the max desireable throw as well ?

-mj- recently suggested that people like a long throw bar on their older arcs ????

I have never tried a long throw so don't have an experienced answer.

Is it possible that the long throw works only with the extensions. ????? :puzzled:

Without extensions wouldn't a long throw just create back stall ????

This is October . Where's the Charger ?

Thanks Toby + MJ .

I'm starting to get all excited again now that I know what to expect.

Now that the bar is ready I'm hoping the Charger is ready to go soon ? I really hope so because the Canuck Buck is strong right now so I'm O.K. about buying in U.S. funds.

They have just released more tech specs on the Navigator Bar to dealers and release dates and pricing is said to be imminent. I do have to say they appear to have thought of everything on this bar. There will be three combinations of adjustable length bars and line lengths (each line set with 3m extensions) for maximum versatility in various wind ranges. There is a 45-55 cm adjustable bar and a 55-65 cm adjustable version. New leash, too which will be a nice aftermarket accessory.

The group of us Arc users in Ontario had converted over to long throw bars a few years ago and I've used them on Synergies, Scorpions, Venoms and Phantoms.
For everyone that I've converted bars over for, they love them and wouldn't go back. In a somewhat brief explanation let's assume you have a possible power range in a kite from 1-10. With a previous twin skin bar the travel (sheeting) might cover a range of 6 numbers in the power range. The separate adjustment strap would move that range of 6 up and down along the scale of 10 so you could set it to be from 1-7 or 2-8, 3-9, 4-10 (Remember these are just numbers I'm using for explanation). So you are dealing with two variables that only give you a portion of the range at any time.
The longer throw gives you that full range in one movement, the length of your reach from 1-10. So you don't need to fiddle with the strap. We have a below the bar trim adjustment that you pull in (same as a strap) to make sure the kite is depowered so even pulling on the bar won't power it up fully. Then when the kite is up you ease out the trim on the cleat and set it and leave it. The long throw means we can move the bar between kite sizes as well. You don't really need to worry about line extensions because you can always pull in the sheeting (which is the front lines) to account for any extensions needed - however this would mean you could have a foot or so of dangling line at the cleat which you may not want and if you did need to pull in a lot then you've also reduced the throw on the bar a little. (I have the ext. on the kites that needed them just because it makes everything equal moving the bars around)
The long throw is awesome on the drylake - no worries of setting the kite up for max power because you can push your arm out to full extension and go to depower.
We also have the sliding stopper so you can set the bar so it will stop with power in it (to cruise or do tricks). But in gusty conditions, high wind and high speed the stopper is furthest away for max depowerability.
We have not found any drawbacks to using the long throw on any of the kites. Using them in buggies, on the water, in winter etc.
The bars are easy enough to convert over once you pick up a ch. loop, some line, a good sized ring, a sliding stopper and a couple of stopper balls for ends of the line.

So your center line is the only thing different? Or did I miss something. How much longer do you make the center line? I'm getting ready to redo a bar and am toying with the idea of adding some throw but want to do it right without causing myself other problems.
