Bah, it's only bad if it's still wet. Although, on cold mornings a nice fresh cow pat is just the thing for warming toes and fingers!
For years now, I've played inline hockey on concrete with regular gloves and only shin guards - no helmet or elbow guards. You get used to sliding on
your knees and rolling ...
With kites though - the problem is the jerks :D Getting jerked off in unexpected directions is how I injure myself! It's all good then suddenly I'm
heading towards a bank like Superman thinking this is gonna hurt
Relaxing helps too ...
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Heal up, man.
May I suggest you avoid any sidewalks, curbs, or other hard-edged obstacles.
Catching an edge on an ATB - especially at LOW speed - can hurt like a #@%$#!!
Or... if you're like me and gravitate toward hazards, may I suggest a pair of
Hillbilly half-finger wrist guard gloves.
They run small and shrink a bit with washing, so purchase accordingly.

I do. They're pretty comfortable, but for flying on handles it makes it a bit harder to grip. Works your fingers out more, I guess. I bought them
when I started using my ATB for crazy sans-kite downhill adventures. My wife makes me wear them now cuz I broke the same wrist twice in less than 6
months.

I've got some similar from a company called Harbinger that doesn't exist anymore ... they're excellent for skating! Work fine with a kite cos I hold
by finger tips anyway ... and I've used them with the Kitewing on 'crete. You get used to them pretty quick and the protection is excellent!
Good to hear that that style is still made! Off to look at the Hillbilly site ...
There you go!

cool, I looked into getting a pair of the full fingured ones because I like to put my hand down when power sliding. I only want to wear them while
riding downhill not while kiting as I tend to death grip the bar in an uncontrollable situation versus draggin my hand while power sliding :dunno:
