Yup, Bad PR on Bests' part. Choose your riders wisely.
So what's up with their riders?!?!?!
A Best LEI rider rode over and cut my lines when my kite was down and staked in "the pits" at kiteStorm. Guys were yelling at him and he just looked back and kept riding. Geez
Lucky DoubleSpeed360 had it on video

no not staged. The guy on the roof is a well know sponsored rider fro Ontario - family run kiteboarding school - overall 90-95% of comments were negative when he posted the video - some guys were saying lighten up, then a discussion about the hypocrisy because if it happened here with a lesser known rider people would be all over him. He posted a follow up message saying they had beers with the fisherman and all is good - he also changed the subject line on the original post to remove the "angry drunk"
I'm in line with the comments here, especially since there is so much concern about keeping the access for kitesurfing at the beach where the school is located (from the guy that is one the roof)

Indigo- don't apologize, you are right. And thanks, you saved me a lot of typing. I concur.

Posting this incident on you tube goes all the way in proving the Best crew need an attitude adjustment. I think they'll get it in Hatteras! As previously mentioned, the local community isn't all that big. BTW, I love Hatteras and the locals. Where else can you hitch a ride in a wet wetsuit and feel welcome to the passenger seat?

Of course, everyone is now waiting for the pictures and poll thread.

Not sure I can pull off a dress. Summer hat with a long train is doable when barhopping in DC prior to wedding functions... generally as part of a drink bet.

Just watching videos and couldn't help but notice how Best Kiteboarding videos really put a ton of emphasis on their Best Girls. Not that looking at babes in bikinis bothers me; but, it makes me wonder why they are the only ones who need a team of calendar girls to sell their gear. Is this the same ego that they are pushing when they choose team riders as well?????:puzzled:

@shaggs - IMO yes. While living in Hawaii I got to meet and kite with dozens of pro (and wanna be pro) kiters, and in general certain companies seem to pick riders who behave like professionals (North, Slingshot and Naish riders come to mind) while other companies tend to pick riders who behave like spoiled brats (Liquid Force and now also Best). Some years back we lost access to one beach thanks to the antics of a couple visiting LF team riders and now this video shows that Best is looking to do the same thing here in NC.

[FWIW I've edited my signature to remove the Best product name. I don't want to in any way promote a company who has no respect for the communities where they ride.]
