I just picked up a set of 135cm skis with a sweet quick click system for adjusting to boot size . If any of Y'all are into it, bring yer boots and give " sandski " a try ! :duh:

Offer does not come with any promise toward your safety! But I'm happy to risk MINE !

The Aurora also arrived and will be there for everybody that wants a shot at it !

Judging by tides I will be there Sat + Sun. Leave here Fri night.

Bring your Long Johns . It looks clear but cold so far ! :wee:

What are the beach approaches like ? Any I should avoid with a basic car.

Oh no...skis...LOL...
Just watched the video the other day...of the dude kite skiing on the beach..
What a tease...I think my knees are already barking at me...
Wonder if there's any yard sales on boots this weekend.
:spin:
Now I'm really looking forward to the event...even if, just to watch!!

I have the boots and 2 pair of skis that haven't seen daylight in years, might as well make use of them. I have 2 snowboards that are ready for kiting, might use one to do a bit of sanding if and only after the skis succeed or fail. My knees are yelling at the thought already, might be the wind and rain dancing was a bit much.
And by the way, fletcht, in private is not as much fun as in public.:P

BB, I look forward to the Aurora Borealis to make a showing, see what we can do to add a bit of seaweed green to those great colors.

Great to here. Having only 2 Kens is like Larry and Curly showing up with No Mo' !

Seat warmer ..... Now that is one thing you haven't put on your pimped out bug. I give you 1 week to invent one ! :ninja:

:smug:

P.S. From the little experience I have had trying to get motion over resistance like these skis it is my core muscles that are my weak point. I am confident I can down wind it like crazy. Holding a line will be amazing and the real challenge ? :puzzled:

Hopefully you don't have 5 meter winds though... Wouldn't want Jeff missing his kite that still out on a pass. :piggy::piggy::piggy::piggy::piggy:

First you have to undergo a background check, be finger printed, show 2 pieces of ID, leave a cash deposit in USD which is non refundable, and lastly you will be fitted with an ankle monitor.
After you fulfill those requirements, I will make a decision based on whether the ball and chain will fit around your neck.
I will hold off on the bomb vest for now:lol:

anybody looked at a wind forecast. Weather looks OK, but Sailflow's wind forecast for OR coast looks like garbage. Around home sailflow's record is that they seldom underestimate wind. Their predictions are for like 4kts or less.and mostly from the south.

didn't look at the wind forecast or the tide table or the weather report. As long as the wife said we can go, WE GO.
If we can't fly, we can always sit on the beach and drink a cold or hot one, and tell each other lies and tall tales, we can be a legend in our own minds.:P;
I will at least get some pics of the new Big Kid Kite Stakes I have developed. They cost about 10 bucks each, but shipping will be much more than they are worth. But they are cool.

this got me laughing, I use WetAlert, I just hold up a finger make sure you lick it first, what ever side is colder is the side the wind is blowing from.

A more high tech solution is the use of Styrofoam weather worms, throw them out in the yard.
If they are wet, it is raining.
If they are all white, it is snowing.
If they seam a bit dry and crunchy, it is sunny out.
If they are not in the yard, it is windy.

I'll be bringing lots of kites for whatever winds are there or are not:dunno:.I hope Jeff has been out doing his wind dance with his little styrofoam buddies.:D

Wind Buddies

Freeking awesome Jeff!!

I LOVE the WIND BUDDIES!!

I gotta make some and do a funny video with them....
WIND CHECK!!....
Scene 1
Kiter1: All serious with his digital wind meter...testing...probing...holding up cell phone, checking web sites.
(Cut to scene 2)
Kiter 2: Just going ALL OUT tossing WIND BUDDIES all over the place, jumping up and down....yelling "Yes!! YES! It's blowing, It's blowing!!"

Ok, now back to kiting....

The river shifted towards Seaside this year so there's alot of beach down there that should be good on a SE.

Hi Fletcht
Bison and I go there on occasion and its a great place. Not the several mile pulls SS offers, but some good runs absolutely.

The weather looks good, keep doing the wind dance Jeff,
I think it's working.
Bring warm clothes too!!!

Can hardly wait to see you all,
SO STOKED,

I'm having second thoughts. The wind doesn't look real good, especially for my kites lol. I'm thinking I might want to save my money for a time when the conditions are a little better for my gear.

some of us do have a few big kites you can barrow for the day or weekend, my kites now come with a timer connected to the explosive device in the handles, just be sure to return them before Sunday afternoon, it would be a bit tricky loading up your new bug with out any hands.
