Yeah, there's something about that illusion of control, we go out, we think we're in charge. In reality the wind can decide our path at any time it chooses. I think that's one of the big draws for many, the dance with the devil.

25, just started about a month or two ago

I've been flying kites since the early 90's.

Accumulated power kiting time about 3-4 years I suppose. It's an on again off again thing. I tend to enjoy all aspects of kiting though.

27 here.

37 been kitesurfing for almost 10 years now. Got my first Wipika kitesurf kite in 1998 while in Hawaii.
Flying kites hardcore since around 1991. Started powerkite flying in 1997ish and bought my house a couple blocks from the beach in 2002 so I could keep flying everytime there is wind in the evening.
I've not been regular pole windsurfing since 1998.

I'm a newbie - turn 55 next week. Dual line parafoils got me hooked on feeling the wind so I bought my first power kite last winter and had a blast on skiis. Now I'm learning how to stay on my landboard and am looking for an engine for the water. What a great way to stay in shape! Some say it is only mid-life crisis - I know better

Got my KGB going this Spring.

34 and addicted since about 3 years now.
been trough therapy and all, but nothing seems to help..
this is by far the most addictive hobby ever..
and it's better and more healthy than hanging at the bar every evening...

I started my hobby with the first series buster 3.0m2
and now there are two Libre big-bags with a total of 21 kite's
varying from 0.7m2 till 15.5m2..:singing:

35. Starting flying 2line stunt kites when I was about 11. Got a couple of Flexifoil Stackers around '94/'95 and it all went downhill from there :-) Got my Flexifoil buggy in '96 and buggied with my 2 line Stackers for a while, then shortly after got my first 4line in '97. Been buggying ever since. And still loving it. And much to my wifes horror, still buying more kites :-)

40! and a little late on the post sorry. And not for being 40. By the look of things I still got my best years left.:tumble:

16 started at 15 with a tarp on ropes, then an NPW and now foils.

40...wanted to find a sport that was as fun as surfing. Looked into both paragliding and kiting but decided to try paragliding. Liked it but got in a near fatal accident. While I was recovering, I decided to look into kitesurfing again. Took my 1st lesson in Sept 2006. Due to the general lack of wind in my area for kitesurfing and my ability to go only once a week, I decided to buy some fixed bridle kites to see if I could maximize my time kiting by doing it on land. Short time later I bought my first buggy and landboard. Now when it's windy I'm at my local park during my lunch hour and either at Oxnard or El Mirage on either Sat or Sun. I now have 11 kites and I'm hopelessly addicted!

54 - at least that's what the birth certificate says. Wife is convinced I'm 54 going on 17. Just started, only been flying for about 2 months. Damn things are way too addicting.................

I bought my first power kite for my 40th birthday. It was a gift from me to me.

2y1/2 later I am addicted.

Just turned 50, but depending on the wind somedays may feel older & others, much younger & wishing Power kites had been around when really I WAS younger...

37 this Dec, been kiting since 89, been pulled around since about 90, buggy since 94, kitesurfing since 99.

Started with HQ Beamer 2.5M at local field and now I have many kites for buggy, kiteboarding and snowkiting along with three buggies, three kiteboards, and one land board.
