I just spent 10 mins typing a review and for some reason lost the post............ Cliffnotes,,,, picture was really good,,,,, mounting was good and easy... I had trouble saving the film to my computer but I am working on it. The picture was clear,, color was good and stable. well worth the money... It was an Oregon Scientific ATC 2000 and it came with the 2 GB SD card. Got it on ebay, came to $138.00 with shipping... I will post the film as soon as I figure it out............Over all I was impressed... but let me make sure it was me not being able to save the film to the PC and not the unit itself....

I found the one video on my PC and it looks good. Problem is I tried to post it on an on-line album with Google Picaso and it tells me that the file is too big,, the video is about 9 mins long. I have to figure it out,, any suggestions on how to post it.. As far as buggy action its not the best because the wind was not that good,,, but you get a good look at our beach and a real good view of how the camera works which is good in my opinion.........

Hey Joecat,

Yeah, real interested on seeing that video and the type of quality that the camera produces...If it's good, I told my wife that's what I want from Santa Claus.

I think I read that the camera produces an .avi file. In order to shrink it's size, you can convert it to a .wmv format which should shrink the size comsiderably. There's all sorts of free converters available. Just go to www.download.com.

After the files converted, you should be able to upload it to youtube and then post the link here.

HTH.

Ok Ok OK! after hours of messing with the computer,,, now I finally know how to do it... Well anyway here is the link,, I think. This cut up to fit and converted from that whatever it was to WMV.. It still looks good but I think the original looked alittle better so if you like this you will like the camera... let me know if it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSR6isvaKVQ

Hey Joecat,,,,quality looks pretty good considering the slight loss going from avi to wmv. Fade to black at 2:21???

Looks pretty nice, Joe. Looks like I add that cam to my wishlist :)
Too bad I don't have it already... Could've attached it to the snow-shovel today and tested the cam for anti-jitter&shake.

Lookin' forward to your next edit, L J.

Well... before my moronic accident with a swiss army knife (wasn't paying attention while cutting a ziptie & cut my finger... stupid stupid mistake...), I actually started getting some improvement in my upwind-ability. Starting to get a better knack for tacking and catching the edge of the window....(I love my Rage 3.5). I can just sense the walks-of-shame getting fewer and fewer :)

Next time will check out 2nd Ave first. Now where's that newest video, Joe?
:)

Was good to meet Barnes. Hey Brian, Barnes and I agree... your kite-quiver is legendary. :tumble:

Looking forward to getting back to Wildwood real soon... (leaving pocket-knife at home next time....:) )

2nd Ave was great. Dryer sand. The wind direction wasn't great, but it was a good time.

Thanks to Joe for letting me ride in his buggy!

Can't wait to really get out and fly with you Luke!

Next time I'll have some vehicle I can use, so I can stop mooching all the time!

That was with the cam attached to a pole behind the buggy, correct? Shake and jitter wasn't too bad at all.

Curious, How did you get the tubing attached to the rear axle not to swivel?

hey Lunchbox,,, I will have to send you some photos of the hookup.. I was racking my brain trying to figure out how to rig it. I was in the hardware store "Lowes" in the plumbing section and saw a compression cuplink... I took the rear wheel off and slide it right onto the axel. It was one with a fitting for a pipe coming out of it. The compression thing you can tighten up real good and it wont move,,, you can loosen it real easy to change the angle up or down. I attached some pvc pipe onto that, I think 3/4 inch about four feet long and at top hooked up a "T" fitting to which I mount my Oregaon Scientific cam on..... I will have to upload some photos as soon as I get the time,,, if its not clear for you. Pretty freaking ingenous if I dont say so myself...............

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw the pic...I was thinking about doing the same thing and I didn't even think about a PVC solution...Nice, simple and inexpensive!

Keep the videos coming...I've hinted to my wife about the ATC2K so I'm hoping she got it and not another tie ;)

..if I get it I'm going to try to get some of me at El Mirage (if they ever open it...) and then kitesurfing...little nervous, though...I'm afraid to see how bad I really am

Going to Wildwood this Saturday (29th), provided the chance of precip doesn't climb any higher.
Forecasted windspeed looks decent at the moment.

Will post forecast update later in week. Hope it stays nice. Anyone else think they might be there this Saturday?

Joe, see what you can do about keeping the rain away, would ya? :)

Hardy har :)

My brother's gonna ride down with me this time. Probably get there between 9 and 10am. Gonna start out at the spot you and Barnes were at last time, Joe, 2nd Ave.
Rain% forecast back up to 40% again... I think it's 'sposed to mellow out after 9 or 10ish though. I'm still a go unless it changes to a washout.

Lookin' forward to hangin' w/ ya guys again.
Brian, no worries, Duder. Lots of winter left. Speakin' of... any thoughts for a Wildwood Winter Bash?... before it gets frostbitey?

yes you could work from your car if need be..... hey Cross,,, I am not sure if the tide will be best at that time at 2nd steet but its worth just meeting there and checking it out..... So come in North Wildwood exit off parkway,,, exit 6.... this way if its no good there we can move south toward wildwood or wildwood crest... but it may be good at 2nd ave... especially I think so far the wind is set to shift to NW alittle after 10am or so,, not sure but it will work,,,,

We got 4 people and a forecast of rain. I think we can get it done while we wait it out! :tumble:

I'm not sure if I'm going to make the haul if the weather isn't looking too hot.
