I am making Proto #4 today and am hoping to get them to Dlish tomorrow hopefully they will get on the road to you soon... The proto #'s 2&3 that Dlish have, have got large holes in them for the "Secret feature" that we had a problem with...

The handles I'm making today will have the problem resolved and not have the large holes in them... :singing:

I'm hoping to have all 3 proto's make the trip for testing due to the secret feature...:ticking:

Any request on handle color before I finish today?

Sorry, I'm holding these up. Bob these should be off to you this week. Screwy sent me the new set (look and feel great), but my dog got ahold of them before I did ( SORRY Screwy). So I will get them back to Screwy in the next day or two and he can fix them up and get them out.
The handles look great, feel great and the special feature is very nice. I will definately be converting over to the screwy handles.

I got to see them but I did not get to fly with them they are comfy and light good looking and it will be worth the pass just to see the secret. You will get somewhere with that I am sure. A matter of fact when you get ready to start dropping some of these I would like to get some fancy ones also. let me know.

Sthrasher I'll keep you in mind, come time... we'll make a Sthrasher signature model... Dlish has a sig. model it has teeth marks in them for extra grip for those extreme kite days...

Yeah, I like the logo it finishes it off... but they are the same, plus the logo... and a few teeth marks that you have to look for to see'em... as good as new...:singing:

The box wasn't large enough to put a full day of wind in it but I put as much as I could stuff in there... Time, I couldn't do anything there, I don't have any spare time around...

Feel free to add or move knots, for your kites... the Kevlar knots tighten down well and are easy to loosen...

Man I am hanging in there. It's been a long 3 weeks and now the healing process starts. pins come out in a week then I can start working on the bones healing up.

Received the Screwy handles day before yesterday. I'm impressed. With only a living room inspection, they look to be nice handles.

The secret feature is a BIG "why didn't I think of that?" It removes a big hassle. I shouldn't say more than that to avoid giving it away before screwy decides to. I'm not sure it is worth patenting because of the limited return, but rest assured, others will adopt this and profit from it.

The kite killers are everything they should be. One thing they could benefit from is to reduce the size of the ring that the cord ties to. I see why you used what you did and using a smaller one would increase the complexity (production costs) slightly but it would give them a more refined and cleaner look. Also, an oval tip to make it easier to pass the end through the buckle would help. You could also have a separate tab there. Either way an oval or chamfered leading edge would make all brands of kite killers easier to put on.

I'm curious about the size of the chamfered holes at the bottom of the handles. Some are small and some are large. What is the order of design here. Big to small or small to big. I'm concerned about such large holes weakening the handles somewhat. Maybe not an issue but smaller would be better unless the large holes eliminated some other problem that makes the large holes worth it.

The padding seems like it will be comfy with use. It also allows for "custom" handles. The wraps at the ends could be more finished. Particularly the top of the handle looks a little undone. Maybe a production vinyl cap would look better.

More to come with some flight time. Gotta go to work.

The large holes are no longer... that was a trial but error... the White/gray/black handles are the newest and closest to production...

I had about a half hour to fly yesterday with 6-7 mph winds. I got the blade out and hooked up the black/white screwy handles. Again, the secret feature is HUGE. I used it once with a huge reduction in hassle. The handles are a good diameter, and are just soft enough. For most of the time I forgot I was using different handles. One thing is I can feel the transition under my thumb. Something to smooth all that out would be the biggest possible improvement. I figure forgetting about the handles while flying is a pretty good compliment. I didn't notice the kite killers very much either. They are fine in performance but in the low winds I didn't actually use them. They were just there.

The handles are a good piece of work and certainly a good alternative to Pansh handles. I wouldn't have any reason to replace my HQ or Flexi handles other than maybe the secret feature. Thinking about a retrofit, but that would require some modification to my current handles.

I see huge benefits to the secret feature if they became universal. Screwy, give the green light and I can expand my thoughts.

I want to try the orange handles on my profoil. Those might not make the trip back if we can work a deal.

The KK are incomplete, they are due some embroidery (screwy logo) and like you mentioned a tab... I' agree with the D ring being smaller... I'll have to order a bag of the 3/4 " or 1' size D rings...

If Dlish will take a new pair we can work something out for the Orange pair...

U2U me on your expanded thoughts so I know what it is first... I think I already know where you are gonna go with it and I believe I have it worked out for universal... still would like your thoughts...

I have somewhat large hands so is there a slightly larger diameter tubing available? I could handle another 1/4" in diameter I think. I don't ever use kite killers on the profoil either. I might wait for your next round of improvements and then kick in for a set. I'm thinking that darker colors on the handles will show dirt less as well. Just rambling thoughts here.

Yeah... I'm thinking of making another proto set of larger diameter handles to compare... it had crossed my mind a few times before...
