Glad you're enjoying the 'Got Wind' stickers CJ; you have a very positive attitude about all of this.

CJ, take it easy dude. I know how you feel . I also suffered a compression injury to my back. MRI showed herniated discs at T7-T8 OR T8-T9 ,I can't remember now. But it haunts me every now and then. My advice to you is NO JUMPING or anything that will seriously compress your spine ,for a good long while. My injury occured dirtbiking when I was 13 and I got better ,but at 36 YRS OLD it came back.I'm better now, but ya never know. That is why I just freeride and keep the aerial stuff to a minimum(1-2ft at most). But I still find tearin up the beach alot of fun,and I love speed.
Peace out little man! D

CJ I know you don't really want to hear this, but glad you are back to school. Not bad for a guy who has a pretty bad back injury! You have a lot of courage little man! Like Donnie says, lay back and heal well! Wildwood will be here before you know it! Time to invite some of your friends over and show them some videos of what you do, that may help them to understand. Anytime someone gives me that "what the heck are you talking about" look, I then ask if they have a computer that I can use for a minute!

Continue with Doc's orders, it will help you heal faster! Keep your head up and you will be good! You have some good people from the forum behind you! The beach isn't going anywhere!

Stay cool!

The kites WILL lift you and you WILL love it ... get down to a beach with soft sand on a low wind day with a big depower and learn to jump properly ... that way, when it happens on a board you'll relax and LOVE it!

That's how it worked for me ... after dicking around on the beaches, started doing little load'n'pops then took the 16m out on an overpowered day ... my first load'n'pop set me soaring up, up, up - thought I wasn't coming down  but rather than freaking out, I relaxed and worked the bar a little and landed and rode off - much to my surprise. I been hooked every since :D

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Get a Charger, Synergy, or VII! Safest depowers, EVER! :) Plus much more durable than a tube. If you smack a tube kite and pop the LE, and it's the only one you own, you could be grounded for a while.

Cheers,

HAHAHA!!! you are wearing atb shirts to school when you get back??? man you sound so awesome!

sorry to hear about you accident. i used to have a 5m pansch ace. that thing was soooo crazy! i have a video up on youtube with mine. that thing yanked me around like a ragdoll. the camera man sucked but the last jump of the day i went up like 20f the kite overflew me so i yanked it to the right and came down at a weird angle. tried to roll but didn't hit at the angle i wanted and twisted my ankle and you can watch my head bounce off the ground.

the camera man sucked, he didn't understand there was a zoom and on my big jump he literally ran track style w the camera on so i had to slow-mo and peice the parts where you could see me together... i was so pissed. lol

here is my video w the widow maker. (don't remember how to put the video in here so here's the link)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rheO4rQ2uw

heal up fast man, will be praying for you!

dude, i live in the middle of north america about as far from ocean as it gets and i pretty much have switched to peter lynn twin skins because they are pretty much the only kites i trust not to fall out of the sky in these gusts.

in my quiver i have a 10m bomba, and 13m venom2 and a 16m scorpion.

i think you should be set with the 10m venom even in higher winds (up to about 30mph).

the twin skins are GREAT gust absorbers. let us know how going back to school goes.

The arcs are pretty floaty too, so even if they do pick you up, it's a nice soft landing.
