Hrmmm.... Latest forecast's tellin' me 40% chance rain, now pushed to ending closer to 1pm(ish)...:puzzled:

A significant haul for me as well...and I'd rather go if more of us can be there.

How would next Saturday look for you guys?

Ok,,, its Tuesday January 1st 2008.. last night checked the weather report for Wildwood. Its said something like 15mph winds out of the West,,, not real good. So figured I wouldn;t bother getting up early... Low tide was 9am. Woke up at 7:30am checked report again, because you know how the reports changed from minute to minute.... And low and behold it said,,, SE winds 15 to 20 mph. Needless to say I was out the door and on the beach by 8:30am. The rest is history!!!!!!!! Went from 23rd ave to 3rd in minutes flat,,,, broke my personal record of 30mph with 36 mph...... it was awsome,,,,of course I have video footage coming in the next few minutes... I was able to ride for about 1 1/2 hrs could have spent several more hours but in the interest of domestic tranquil I had to go,,, the 2nd street area was great as the winds shifted to mostly SSE. I will have more video of the entire venture at a later date but until then enjoy the best ride of the day...

That is awesome dude!
Can't wait to see your new footage.

If rain stays away and the wind is right, I'll be looking to break my own record of 24.5mph this coming Saturday.

I think your awesome conditions happened today because the wind gods look very favorably on any buggier who takes it upon himself to, willingly, wake up at 7:30am on New Year's Day :)

Way to go Lucky Joe! (hey that rhymed) :tumble:

*Edit: You were haulin'! What was the black stuff flyin' from right to left in front of the lens? Sand/debris or some kind of distortion on the cam? I received mine btw (same model)... Even using the heavier rubber mounting pads I get a lot of shake, wobble and that wavy effect (tested on my mountain bike)...Other than that, can't complain too much for the price.

Hey Luke,,, the black stuff was sand debris flying up..... I think it looks kind of cool...... good luck with the camera,,,, I guess you have to fool with it to see where the best picture comes from,,,, I guess we could get some of the shakes out depending on where we mount them.

I did the same thing. I was debating between buggying and kiteboarding and due to the forecast, I've decided to go kiteboarding. It turned out to be good though. About 7 kiters out there, enjoying first day wind of 2008.

Glad you had fun too, Joe. If forecast is good, I will be out there riding with Luke. We will see how lucky we are without lucky Joe

Very nice (since I am in it :D) It was truly an awesome day. 90 degree off shore wind. Started a little gusty but later stronger and steadier.

I started with Manta 8M and was a little under-powered. Manta 10M was perfect for buggy. Later Manta 12M was good enough to pull two buggies.

Good fellow buggyers always double the fun. It was a great day! - Brian

A few friends were planning on taking their new kites down to Wildwood next Sunday the 20th. Extended forecast looks clear, 14mph winds, but a brisk 25 degree temp..not sure what the plan will be, but I'll keep you posted.

Great day indeed!
First time using the harness really in the bug....(OBEs are quickly losing their glamour)... But started to get the gist of it, and wow does it take the strain off your arms!

Petra introduced me to depower... That was awesome. Never tried a bar before. Now I'll have to get a second job to get more gear :)

All you folks looked great out there yesterday! And my brother said, "It was kool to see all those kites in the air". Usually it's just him and me at small local spots.

Thanks for a great day, all!

Was rinsing my kites and hangin' them to dry this morning... Every time I do that, all I can think about is getting out there to fly and buggy again as soon as possible.
Hope I can make it there again this coming weekend...if the weather cooperates.

Hey Guys, Girls,,, again another good day in the end anyway. The wind started out ok until I unfolded my kite and then it died,,, sat there for awhile with no wind and then a little wind but at the end it kicked in like a son of a son,, and actually became to powerful for the 5 meter that I broke out when the wind died. Got a real good ride in as you can see from the video.

Hey Luke, I was going maybe about 25 mph not that fast........ If the wind direction was better I could have got alot more speed out of it. We got to get everybody down there one of these weekends coming up... hopefully we will get a warmer weekend.
